we booked for 2 nights and after one, we checked out. The place stank of cigarette smoke, the staff couldn't speak english, the panels on the wall in my room were falling off. half the lights didn't work. There were stains on the carpet. The breakfast room stunk of cigarettes, everything was dirty, flies everywhere, cutlery not washed properly.

I wasn't really very impressed with this hotel. The rooms look shabby, my bed was incredibly lumpy , as was my pillow, and the staff all seemed miserable and were unwilling to help. The free breakfast buffet was so bad that I went next door to the 7-11 to buy cereal and milk.

On the plus side, the river view is quite nice and the location is decent. I'd recommend the seven seas restaurant, just past the 7-11, for food (they also had accommodation there which was cheaper, but I can't comment on it's quality).

Staff were very nice and helpfull. The room was ok, but asked for riverview, but did have a large tree in front. They gave me a new room with better view. I asked for a room in the front, but I found the price to high.
The room was absolutely ok, but not more. Good bed.
Breakfast was ok. I had my dinner in the restaurant outside by the river. The dinner was very good and the view fantastic. I loved to sit and watch all the big barges passing.

Room tip: Ask for a front room facing the river!

I stayed here once before and didn't like it, but things change such as the staff. They are now very friendly from security guard upwards. The large room had a wonderful view of the river and it was fascinating to watch the barges negotiating the bend in the river en route to Bangkok. One downside is the breakfast which offers a poor choice. At the price, this hotel is a bargain. But lock up small personal items when you go out just in case.

Room tip: The deluxe rooms facing the river are worth the extra.

Compairing this hotel with all seasons in BKK... Is the riverside hotel in need of a makeover. Rooms that need new furniture and better hygiene, working airco,... Breakfast was ok. Closeby you can find tuk tuks for cheap prices, and the old city is not far away. Location was ok but the hotel could not please me.

Poor, old, smelly rooms. Very poor english of their staff. Breakfast almost not existing - just some toast, tea or undrinkable coffee. Many guests bought something in the nearby convenience store and were eating this in the breakfast room. Overpriced Internet / WiFi. Some things (clothing, pocketknife, toilet case, ...) have misteriously disappeared in our room, but of course they did not understand what we were confronting them with and emails remained unresponded... The only positive aspect is the convenient location close to the railway station.

Room tip: Don't pay more for a 'riverside view room' or a high floor, it's the same (poor) standard.
