An awesome place to visit and appreciate the story of history. Like many other places, tourists are expected to respect Buddha and worshippers all the time.
To our surprise, the city is very wide spread and it takes a bit of travel to go from one site (for sight-seeing) to another. So it is a good idea to do your homework first-hand to decide on what you want to see and how much time you would need and learn about the history of the place. We did not see any information about the history on site in English.
We did a one day tour from Bangkok, which took us to most of the important sites. We could not understand our local guide very much though. So we did things in reverse: reading about the place after the visit.
