After visited chao sam prha ya musuem, we bike through the historical park to visit the sign of Ayutthaya. while we visited we feel strange because the place is quite quiet. no tourist at all which is very good for us to visited. We did a small picnic at the entrance and it is great !

A fantastic set of ruins to visit especially with a guide to explain the history. Respectful attire is required and it can be very hot

A nice ancient city with well maintained and facilities support your need. Traffic is nice, no traffic jam at all during our visit.
We spend 1.5hrs from Bangkok to reach Ayutthaya.
It reminds us of City of temples Ankor Wat in Cambodia, however Ayutthaya spread at larger area.

If you have a chance you should visit this city. We rented a Tuktuk and had an amazing day. It can be nice to read something about Thai history before visiting this city, so you will understand everything better. Avoid the floating market, it's not worth your time.

An awesome place to visit and appreciate the story of history. Like many other places, tourists are expected to respect Buddha and worshippers all the time.

To our surprise, the city is very wide spread and it takes a bit of travel to go from one site (for sight-seeing) to another. So it is a good idea to do your homework first-hand to decide on what you want to see and how much time you would need and learn about the history of the place. We did not see any information about the history on site in English.

We did a one day tour from Bangkok, which took us to most of the important sites. We could not understand our local guide very much though. So we did things in reverse: reading about the place after the visit.
