My husband and I stayed here for one night during our group tour. Nice hotel and reasonably clean in my opinion. The door personnel is helpful if you need a taxi/tuk tuk to get anywhere far. 7/11 and Lotus Express is also a short walk down the street for your basics. Only down part to this place is that a friend in our group said she saw a roach in her bathroom? Unfortunately or fortunately I didn't see any in my room. The breakfast had many options and was decent.

Krungsri River Hotel, Ayutthaya, Thailand..
November 10, 2013

we traveled from Bangkok to Ayutthaya by car for an overnight trip to visit the old capital of Thailand. The trip is certainly worthwhile , because the various Temples you see here are in the " Cambodian style architecture " . We stayed at the " KRUNGSRI River Hotel . We were accommodated in Room 430, which is a large room, well appointed with all the amenities , including a modern flat TV & Mini Bar. The Hotel has a Coffee Shop, / Italian Restaurant , a large Lobby and very nice staff. Breakfast is very busy there because the Krungsri caters to tourist from around the globe. The food selection is plenty with the usual Asian / Western food items . The Hotel is clean.... it does not have the most modern decor but it is really nice for a one or two night stay and see the sights in Ayutthaya which is certainly worthwhile.
We had no problem at all, therefore I can recommend the hotel as well as visiting " Ayutthaya"

We visited Ayutthaya with my friend and her family this weekend. We stayed here one night. The room is clean and with standard. The reception looked not very welcome since they most time showed with a cold face. We went to the Chinese-style restaurant in the lobby for lunch yesterday. The food was processed very slowly, and we never got chance to see the dim-sums that we ordered since the time to wait was more than one-hour. We left the restaurant without any desire to come back. The doormen are very helpful and looks very friendly comparing with the reception. The buffet breakfast is nice with lots of choices. We chose the table close to the window with a good garden view. If the reception could give a smile, we would recommend this hotel again. The lift is very small and easily gets crowed.

Easy to find hotel right next to the temples which are 2.6kms away. Room is standard. Restaurant is large and they had someone playing the piano then they had singers. Gym was good a bit cramped but cannot complain apart from no cups to get any water.

You can chose from the internstional restaurant or Italian food at the Pub. I am off now to the Karoake, yes they have a great Karoake room.

I saw they have a snooker room and bowling alley but i haven't found that yet. I paid THB 1,950 or GBP 40 for the night. No complaints so far......off to karoake now!

My mum and I stayed at the Krungsri River Hotel for 3 nights over new years eve, Dec 2013-Jan 2014 and had a wonderful experience. The hotel staff were very organised at check in and check out, they looked after our bags before our late depature to Bangkok and were extremely courteous at all times. The rooms were fairly standard with a very decent sized room (we had a twin share), firm but comfortable beds, though the pillows were on the hard side. The Krungsri also maintained an extremely good level of cleanliness. Our bedroom had a nice veiw of the Chao Phraya River and it was nice to rise in the morning and look out over Ayutthaya as it woke up. The breakfast was extremely adequate with the choice of just about anything you like to eat for breakfast available. Because we stayed over NYE we automatically purchased tickets to the nights events, which was a rather interesting but fun event, but i what i didn't like was that i don't recall having the choice not to go to the celebrations. This was not a problem because the people who we were meeting up with were able to join us for the celebrations. It was a superhero fancy dress banquet, with so much food you could feed a small nation. The food was all freshly made over the course of the evening and was absolutely delicious. It gave us the opportunity to taste every thai dish that we wouldn't be so certain about buying out off the street or at a restaurant. I think i ate continually over the 6 hrs! There were carnival games, which were a nice touch, and despite the naysayers in our party, they created a lot of excitement and enjoyment. I won a few prizes myself! There was a balloon guy as well as a lot of Thai entertainment, which was just hilarious. All in all a fun and memorable night!
Despite not being that central, we had no problems getting around. We hired a tuk tuk for 2 days for 1000Baht each day and have now see just about every Wat in the city as well as a few off the beaten track sites about the history of the place.
We ate at the Chinese restaurant in the hotel on the first night and the food was wonderful, but there are also a few good restaurants down on the river near by.
All in all we were happy with our stay at Krungsri River Hotel and i would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in the area. We hired a car from Bangkok airport to get us there and it cost about 600Baht which was well worth it for door to door service.
I highly recommend a visit to the Royal Elephant Kraal in the area, as well.

We stayed 2 nights, booked via booking.com for 1900bt including breakfast. We came by train from Bangkok and we had only 300m to walk from Ayutthaya trainstation to this hotel, no tuktuk hokey-pokey needed … this is definitely a positive point for us.

This well maintained and comfortable 4* hotel (9 floors, 200 rooms) is located on the Lopburi river bank. It is our fourth stay in this hotel since 1998 and, yes, the hotel becomes a little bit older but is still the best of Ayutthaya (in my opinion). We tried out 5 other hotels in the city, but Krungsri is my favorite, certainly if you come by train. For those coming by car : free large onsite parking.

Our spacious carpeted room (7.6x3.7m = 28m², including bathroom) was comfortable, very clean, and quiet at night. Excellent bed. Good and silent airco, flatscreen TV. Bathroom normal size and clean, combo bath-shower. Complimentary : good Wifi, mini fridge, no coffee nor tea making facility. Most rooms have river view, more or less, depending of the distance between your room and the river.

Swimming pool is surprisingly “refreshing” (=cold) due to the location of the pool : right in the shadow of the northside of the hotel. Sometimes there are some pigeons drinking at the pool but never became a real problem like some other reviewers suggest.

Good and varied buffet breakfast, western and asian food, bacon, egg station, etc … Also the daily lunch buffet is worthwhile for only 300bt/pp. And take your diner at the cosy garden restaurant on the banks of the Lopburi-Pasak river (but not cheap according to thailand standards). Or take the Krungsri Princess riverboat for an exciting evening dining cruise.

Tip : bikes for rent near the trainstation (40bt/day); cross Pasak river by little ferry for only 4bt/pp and cycle 1,5km to the temples of the old cit

Though located little out of the town, the hotel provides good service. Staff are courteous, willing to help and maintain the place well. Breakfast spread is huge but if you are vegetarian like me, beware - not much options beyond muffins, croissants and bread! But you can just walk out to nearby stores to get food. Ambience is good.
