This was our second trip with ABT and would definitely use them again. We embrace the concept of sustainable tourism which this company offer, their enthusiasm and belief in this idea of actually giving back to communities is infectious. This belief runs through all of the guides we met and had the privilege to spend time with.
Our special thanks to Nutty, Jame, Neung, Pui and Moo for looking after us so well in Thailand and Adrian and Lilly in Cambodia; we had lots of laughs and adventured to places we would not have seen left to our own devises.

Don’t worry about being active all the time, you get plenty of opportunities to relax, have massages, enjoy the local cuisine and have a cold beer or two. The cycling, jungle trekking and temple visiting are all done at a slow, steady pace and I would encourage everybody to give it a go.

I visited ayutthaya with my husband last Dec 27. Our hotel is in Bangkok and we did not have any idea how to get there. The tour did not include hotel transfers so we just searched the net and boarded the train from Hua Lamphong station. We queued at the counter and asked for tickets to ayutthaya. They gave us tickets with no seat numbers, luckily, the seats we occupied was not yet assigned to anyone until it was one station away from ayutthaya (30 mins from the station so we ended up standing for 30 mins). Our tickets costed 20 thai baht each. We left Bangkok at 6:40 am and ticket states that we will arrive at 8:45 am at ayutthaya but we arrived at 9:10am. Our activity would be starting at 9:30 am so we had to rush to the travel agency upon alighting. The tuktuk ride costed 100THB.

We arrived at the agency at exactly 9:30. It was quite near the station. We were supposed to be 8 all in all but it turned out the 6 other people were also late. Apple, our guide, decided to proceed with the tour with only me and my husband. The rest will pick up on the tour where we are. Apple briefed us well on our route and all the hand signals. She was very friendly and can speak and understand english well.

The temperature in Ayutthaya was cold when we visited. I was expecting that it would be hot but it was very windy and it seems like I never broke a sweat at all throughout the biking tour literally.

The bikes provided to us were just the right size for our height. There was water with the bikes and they also provided drinks in one of our stops. The guide is also very informative. We discovered a lot about Thailand all throughout the trip because of her. She also helped us take our photos and is brave enough to tell allbthe other people to move aside so she can take good photos of us. The rice barge experience was also nice. The food is great! They served very good Thai food. After tge rice barge, they took us for our Thai massage. It was for 2 hours. The massage was both good and painful. Don't hesitate to tell the person if the massage is already hurting you or you will end up like me. My whole body ached the next morning bec of the massage.

After the massage, someone picked us up from the massage place to the mini vans to Bangkok.

Overall, I would recommend this trip to everyone. But during summer time, like March to May, you may opt for the afternoon trip instead as it may get very hot. You might also want to consider hiring your hotel transfer in order for you to save time and avoid all the stress.

The trip was really nice, had a great guide and the sights were amazing.

I don't recommend paying extra for the sunset cruise back to bangkok as the food was terrible and before you are even done eating they are taking the food away and preparing for the next load of people entering the boat.. was very poor.

We wish to point out that this review cannot be referring to any trip operated by Ayutthaya Boat and Travel. We do not and never have, operated any day trips that include a sunset cruise back to Bangkok. Our sunset cruises are only in the Ayutthaya area and are operated for only one group of passengers per day. We would therefore be most grateful if you could withdraw this review as soon as possible.
Thank you.

We had an amazing excursion with Ayutthaya boat and travel! My partner and I signed up for the Ayutthaya highlights afternoon cycle and dinner cruise. Since nobody else had booked this package the two of us were the only people on the cycle and the cruise. This made the tour a bit more personal and more memorable and meant that we could pester our guide (Nung?) with incessant questions. Our guide was knowledgable, friendly and professional.

The two hour massage was great, although the aircon means it gets a bit chilly.

The dinner cruise was also fantastic. The food was delicious, although the food gets cold quite quickly on the boat. Tea, coffee and water are complimentary, but there is a cash bar available on board (a bit steep at B40 a coke). After the cruise we were dropped off at our guesthouse, however this might not be standard practice, as it was only the 2 of us.

Suggestion: take a jacket along and ask them to keep it at the office until you return from your cycle. Then take it along for the cruise as it gets a bit chilly at night and they don't have blankets onboard the barge. Also, dress in suitable temple attire as you do enter a few of these.

What a tour! We had the most amazing experience, riding around Ayutthaya and visiting the remaining ruins of the former capital. Led by tour guides Kulika and Ice, we were greatly looked after the whole time and they took care of our every need. We particularly enjoyed sharing our culture (Maori) with the guides who spoke in depth about Thai culture, making comparisons along the way. The rice barge trip was great, the Thai meal delicious, and a great way of seeing other sights that you may miss along the bike tour. Following a lovely meal, we enjoyed and greatly appreciated the two hour traditional Thai massage that relaxed every muscle in the body! It was a great way of capping off a fantastic experience and Kulika ensured we returned to Bangkok safely. We will be recommending this tour to all our friends and will return to the tour on our next trip to Bangkok!
