We stayed in Baan Thai house for a few days and we just felt at home. The owner and staff are very nice and friendly. Our children were delighted with the lake, the boats and the pool. It's just the right place to relax in the middle of a beautiful garden after a walk around the temples in the heat. We did the boat trip to see the temples in the late afternoon, sun set + diner at the market and we loved it.

We really enjoyed our stay at Baan Thai house. The bungalows are nice, quiet, comfortable. The surroundings are very pretty, nice garden, great swimming pool. The staff is very helpful and they make your stay very easy by having their own network of taxi, tuk tuk, boat cruise with a fixed price.
We enjoyed the boat cruise they organised for us and also thought it was a great idea to book a private tuk-tuk for 3 hours 1 morning to visit the main temples.
I strongly recommend this place and will happily visit again should the opportunity come.

Conveniently located close to the train station but away from the bustling city streets.
It was nice to come back after a hot day of sightseeing to cool down with a dip in the pool.
The room had very limited storage space but does have tea/coffee making facilities.
Breakfast choices were rather limited but the food was fresh enough.
Overall a nice place but rather expensive for what it offers.
You can rent motorbikes from places opposite the railway station. There are also a number of eateries, 7-11 & Tesco opposite the railway station.

We arrived after a long journey from Koh Phi Phi and we were amazed by this beautiful and perfect looking boutique hotel. The staff is so friendly and they speak very well English. The bungalows are pretty and well designed all serrounded in this lovely garden with a big pond. The bungalows are either garden view (which we've stayed in) or lakeview overseeing the pond. All bungalows have a sitting area outside in the garden or on a veranda (garden- or lakeview). The buildings are all in old Thai style and everything is beautifully decorated. Breakfast is good, not very big, but you have everything what you need and again the staff is very helpfull! Lunch and dinner are also good.
In the lovely garden you will find a swimmingpool, which is nice after a long and warm day visiting the tempels and ruïnes. The hotel provides towels and if you leave the hotel late on check-out day there are changing rooms including a shower which you can use.
From the trainstation it is very easy to walk to the hotel, about 10 minutes and there are signs from 'Baan Thai' pointing our the direction to the hotel. You can also take a tuk-tuk which you will cost not more than 80 THb.

Again we highly recommend this boutique hotel of you plan to visit Ayutthaya!!!!

This is a good base to tour the various attractions of Ayutthaya.
We stayed in a Lake View Villa.
On arrival, the staff and management were very welcoming, all speaking very good English.
At first we were a bit apprehensive when trying to settle in the room, but this was a simple case of switching our mindset, we had just come from a 5 star luxury resort, charging European prices to a relatively simple Thai Homestay that was a fraction of the cost. Once we had this reality check we could see what a truly delightful place this was and rate it accordingly.
The room had everthing we needed and the only criticism would be that there could have been a bit more storage and a change of layout would make better use of available space. A previous reviewer commented on the "previously used" flip flops, yes, this is true but you don't have to use them, most hotels/Homestays of this level wouldn't normally provide them, in our case these had been cleaned.
We would like to have seen more choice for breakfast, but what was provided was adequate and there was plenty.
Dinner is a simple menu, but there was enough choice for our four night stay. The food was very tasty and very good value.
Free bikes are provided and it is only a short ride to the Ancient city via the ferry opposite the railway station. However the river was low during our visit and there were rather a lot of steps to carry the bikes up and down at the ferry terminals.
The pool area is very pleasant and relaxing.
The hotel has its own Spa Centre where we both had treatments. My wife had a 2 hour aroma therapy massage and I had a 1 hour Thai massage. Both were very good value for money and expertly carried out.

Baan Thai house is a great place to stay in Ayutthaya. It is in a convenient location, very close to the city, yet very peaceful and quiet and set away from the bustle of the streets. It has a long drive with a lake and the accomodation is either set around this lake or in the garden. We had a garden room and it was very comfortable and superb value for money. It was very clean and had twin comfortable beds (all the beds in Thailand are firm but that suits us), very good linen and an en suite loo and shower, all great. It is so quiet and peaceful at night. It is in a nice area with residential houses, and was totally safe and relaxing. Breakfasts were very good, with a choice promptly delivered by the smiling helpful staff, and incredibly all included in the very reasonable price. The owner is lovely and all the staff speak good English and were great with advice about where to eat etc. What is also great is the free bike rental which is a great way to get about the city. Great fun to take your bike on the river ferry! The on site massage service is very good and very reasonable, and there is also a nice pool to have a dip in after a long day's adventures!

Room Tip: The Garden Room was very private and great value for money

We stayed in a garden view room for 2 nights and enjoyed our stay. The room was immaculate featuring a mini-bar, TV, AC, fan, outdoor and indoor shower with hot water. We did not use the outdoor shower due to mossies though it looked nice. The area where the hotel is situated is quiet and surrounded by lovely gardens/pool. The dining room features simple and tasty Thai meals. There are free push bikes for guest use and the front desk staff offered up plenty of suggestions on where to go/see. The hotel is located close to the train station.
All in all a very comfortable and pleasant stay. The front desk staff was very helpful offering suggestions about the area.
