We may have said it all before! The hotel is in not very convenient at all, far from the city, travel difficult not suitable for people without a car to stay and noisy from sound of the train. When overflow parking for all permit, there are parking outside behind the hotel is in the dark and not safe. Large rooms but is not completely and no lift. Room is suitable to take a bed only, not suitable to stay for long holiday. Cheaper price but not comfortable. Not sleep that night and I needed into the city to open another room another room at the River Place hotel instead.

I stayed at The Lima Place for 3 days in June 10 and found it to be a friendly and comfortable hotel especially for the price. B1100 for VIP room. But sadly the hotel is approx. 6-7 km from the railway station which is another 3 kms from the city. I would recommend the hotel if you have your own transport or on business, although the hotel offer car/motorbike/bicycle rental and a local bus passes regularly in the daytime for the average holidaymaker it is not ideal because of the location.
Added to that the price of taxis and tuk tuks in Ayutthaya is very high even the hotel charged B100 for the railway station one way trip. Much higher than in BKK.
Ayutthaya is well worth seeing for the Ancient City Heritage site but with a few exceptions there is nothing much to do, nightlife is sparce and the city is better seen on a day trip from BKK.
However I have no complaints about the hotel, good food and good service and I am happy to give it 4* but I could not recommend it.

the hotel is average and a bit far from the main attractions in town. even though they rent bike with the heat in thailand i wouldn t rent one. the best way to get to town is to call a tuk tuk or to get the bus number 7 right across the street.

This nice little hotel offers very good value, considering the low prices and good quality of the rooms and service. The hotel is located a bit far from the center, though. But not to worry, the hotel has bicycles for rent for, if I remember correctly, 50 baht per day. The bicycle is a great means of transport for exploring the old city! The hotel provides car transport too, which isn't that expensive and "taxis" can be ordered too. Booking online was very swift. Ayutthaya is a pretty nice city with lots of cultural attractions and it isn't very touristic at all, at least it wasn't when I visited, which was in early november 2009. Not a bad stop on the way north to Chiang Mai (the trainstation for the sleeper train is very nearby). Have fun, Thailand is so sweet!
