If you want to see a Buddas head covered in tree roots this is the place to see one. Other bits and bobs here too, but not as cool as a budda head surrounded by tree roots

We visited this historical site as part of a day trip by coach/boat from Bangkok. You can really get a sense of what it would have been like back in the 1700s, by the amount of ruins, buddhas (unfortunately most of them headless) and chedis strewn around this large compound. There is a buddha's head entwined in roots of a banyan tree but you are not allowed to take photos with the head unless you are kneeling down. We only had approx half an hour is look around but we were able to see everything in that time. The atmosphere here is very serene, we were lucky there were not many people around. There are people selling elephants, and other souvenirs. If you see a man with a camera which I thought he was trying to sell us, he actually takes photos of you as you are walking towards the complex. They stick the photos on a plate and then sell them for 100 baht - actually a great souvenir to take home so make sure you smile - I had a terrible frown on my face - valuable lesson learnt !! This was my favourite of the sites we visited, well worthwhile. The temple was open from 8.00am - 5.00pm and the admission price is 30 baht.

The most famous part of this temple is a stone buddha head that has had a tree grow all around it, encompassing it with its roots. The temple site has several other broken ruined buddha statues around, and many chedis of course.
