“Food is reasonably priced, service is not very good”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 27, 2012

We've been here twice, because our guesthouse is around the corner at a 5 min walk so very convient for us. This place looks really cute and cosy, and is not big at all so in terms of atmosphere: nice! We had dinner here last night and today we went for a snack and a beer after a day of visiting ruins in the pouring rain :) You might have to wait a while to be served because the place is indeed runned by 1/2 people. We had the classic spicy papaya salad which was how we know it, not very special but you get what you order! Also they ran out of pork so I could not try spicy crispy pork. Instead of this I chose chicken with Thai basil and pepper which was lovely!
Today with our two big changs (75 baht each) we had salty cashewnuts and little pieces of fried salted pork. Great. Plus, the mosquito spray, good service!

Only downside is that the guy who runs the place was not really happy and could not really speak english.

“The best and cheapest restaurant in Ayutthaya”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 24, 2012

We found this restaurant on a little walk to the temples and went in for lunch. It was so good that we went back for dinner that night. The waiter was fantastic and its the best service we've had in Asia! He went out of his way to make sure our meal was great and brought everything out at the same time (unheard of in Asia). He gave us mosquito spray too in the evening. The food was absolutely delicious - tastes so strong and distinct and there was plenty to fill you up. The prices were so cheap and what you got was worth so much more. We love this place.

“nice wooden pub/restaurant with small view at ruins”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 20, 2012

Attracted by a positive Lonely Planet review in the book about the super view of the lit ruins at night, we walked 2 km from the river side ferry. Food is good, nice wooden thai chalet, but disappointed by the view. Diagonalley across the street there is a lit wall, the adjacent chedi is not lit from this side.

“Best Tom Yum Gong in Thailand”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 13, 2012

We had dinner here on our first night in Thailand. Over the next 10 days we ate at a whole lot of places from back street places full of locals to hotel restaurants and had Tom Yum Gong in nearly all of them.

This was by far the best we had and the atmosphere of the restaurant was great!

“excellent food, poor service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 12, 2012

Excellent and cheap Thai dishes. We paid 175 Bht for lunch (2 drinks, 2 meals).
Those were the first Thai people without a smile or greeting.
