“Prime location ...Not expecting star grade facility”
Reviewed August 30, 2013 via mobile

Only one advantages is good location, easy access to park , lake and restaurants (Main 7 junction road) ...Small hotel for budget travellers. Not expect star grade facility.
During peak period...just just ok... I tried many hotels fully bookes that time... so we decide to stay 3 days.... Suitable for low budget..

horrible......!!!!!!!!!! i dont know why make my trip advertised such a poor quality hotel.we stayed there one night. The room is very dull and dark and there is no way for sunlight to get inside.there is not even a window!!!!!!!!two cfl lamps are fitted on both sides of the cot as shown in the photo is the only source of light in the room.the hotel is offering a complimentary breakfast but they didn't give the same and when we asked about it they said that it was after 9 o'clock.the check out time was at 9.The advantages are staffs are very co-operative and friendly and the room is clean.the location is also an advantage.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking time off to write this review. Firstly, we are happy that you liked our service, room cleanliness and location.

We are extremely sorry that we were not able to meet a few other expectations of yours. The lighting in all rooms have been looked in to and have been replaced with brighter light fittings and CFL bulbs. I would like to clarify that all rooms in our hotel have windows and ample ventilation, but a few room windows face the building at the back. The breakfast problem has also been resolved and the concerned people have been addressed.

We do hope to welcoming you again at J's heritage!

Thank you once again!

Highlights : Wow, experience with the weather conditions and the cottage!! (No Doubt about that)
Service at the resort was good - Mr Charles and his family - Great Dedication!! (Including the small service boys and the driver)
Food : We only had a chance to have breakfast for 2 days and it was the same routine menu (It is suggested to change the menu instead of Idilies served for dinner)

Low lights : As per the package, we were entitled for a pick up however, we were told upon arrival that resort cabs are not available and I hired a taxi self to reach the resort (I paid for the taxi) and this communication was not passed to the resort Duty Manager. Upon Check I assumed proactively that the taxi charges would be reduced in my bill but I had to Voice it out to the manager.
Box of Chocolates and Fruit Basket, Cycling were not offered to us during the stay (Which was also part of my package)
We felt a bit embarrassing upon check out when we were asked by the duty manager that we paid only Inr 3600 when we actually paid Inr 3800. Merchant copy can be used for reference.
Children Park : It is unsafe that we noticed a granite stone and cables pass over near the sliding board. That should be removed to avoid children who might get injured

Tour Guide :The 2nd day as per schedule as per mentioned below on the agenda was supposed to be side seeing however, we never expected that we will be taken for trekking. It was amusement however, very risky for parents who have children below 7 years. The group who was part with us also did not like the day spent because it was not organized well
The Guide was not professional and had no clue to where he was leading . We had to walk many miles inside the mountains and we were not offered lunch that day. The agenda should have been told to us in advance so we would have prepared ourselves with trekking costumes and gadgets
Due to unorganized planning we felt very tired and Intentionally did not wish to peruse the next days side seeing being afraid of where we will be mislead. Hence we just took off to totwn by self and settled down for lunch. Besides, this we were also asked to pay additional money to the guide. I brought this to the attention of the Manager however, no response upon check out or not waived
I think there should be over communication between the management and staffs who are organizing the tour trip to ensure the guest are not affected by guides who are not sure how to guide. Overall we feel absolutely safe under the kindness of Mr Sudhakar.

Room Tip: Take the Resort 7A for a beautiful view of your right side.

The hotel's location is the main advantage. The lake is in walkable distance, so is the main centre like Pizza corner, bus stand, chocolate shopping etc. There are good restaurants very nearby (Tibetan few doors away!).

Dont expect anything from rooms. Its purely budget minded. We took a double room with rooms interconnected. The toilets were not so clean. I didnt have issue with hot water as it was available each time we needed. The check in was bit time consuming as we were bachelors. The beds are not so great either. The pullovers were horrible and stained. But keeping in mind, this is a budget hotel, you cant expect more.

You cannot park your car near the hotel. It was terrible to be asked to move cars often as we were on self drive. The road itself is a slope and narrow. Though there is a vacant spot near the hotel, it was barricaded for some reason. We had tough time parking the car.

Overall, its budget hotel but you get amenities worse than a budget hotels. 1Night stay is worth. But not more than that.

To share , this is a hotel suitable for medium to low budget travellers, the basic type rooms are not upto the mark in comfort and quality, cold & gloomy , broken light fittings , hot water cannot be guaranteed when required ,the deluxe rooms are somewhat acceptable since they get sunlight. Room service is quick.
People who love variety of non veg and veg food will love this hotel as there are lots of tibetian / continental / chinese / indian food available nearby. Location is very central and walking distance from the Kodai lake and the main market and bus stop. Hotel run by only very few staff.

Room Tip: rooms facing the front road are of deluxe types and are the best ones .eg 204

We booked J's Heritage for 4 nights (Dec 22 -Dec 26), 2012.
We share our experience with this hotel below.

The Hotel is at a convenient location, with the lake at a walking distance and other nearby restaurants to dine. This is one of the few positive things which we found with this hotel.

The hotel rooms ( we booked 2 deluxe category rooms) looked very average to us. We stayed there for 4 nights. Not a single time, was the room cleaned and the linens changed in spite of our request to the hotel manager to do the same. The dustbins were filled with trash as we stayed for long time. The rooms were also very cold during the night which caused significant discomfort in sleep.

Hot water was available from geysers when required and we didn't faced any problems with that.

Room service was poor. We found difficulties even in getting drinking water.

Complementary breakfast was served with tea/coffee. This was of descent quality and we liked the food. It was restricted to South Indian type.

The front of the hotel and the interiors, reception etc didn't resemble anyway to a 3 star property as advertised by Cleartrip. Sewage water was flowing over the entrance and it was stinking. There is no proper parking facility (we went with our own car) and was offered to park the car in vacant space adjacent to the hotel.

The hotel do not have a restaurant and you have to find restaurants outside for food.

Overall, we didn't like the stay in this hotel and didn't find value for the money spent.
