Place is big. Junior suite are very nice. But there is nothing much to see around.
Its very far from city.
Food is good and service is also nice.
But prefer lake view over this valley view.
Facilities are ok at premises. faced lot of power cut problem during the visit.

Room Tip: check for suites

We stayed here for 3days in this best hotel in kodai kanal. This was my first trip to kodai and this hotel is located just 4 km from the city center. If you drive on your own its perfect. otherwise hotel people will provide the transportation. They charge 200 for pickup or drop. I have got a rennovated single betroom suit. it is well maintained. every thing is perfect. My wife was very happy after seeing the hotel room. this is first time we were travelling to a holiday and it is unforgettable experience in Sterling holidays. the reception people are very kind, soft speaking.
The best thing is the restaurant. they have a very good indian restaurant. The prices are very comparable with a decent restaurant anywhere in india.
Hotel also has a travel and recreation desk. they arrange for any events if your want to celebrate in the hotel. They also arrange local sightseeing, which is also not very costly. Instead of going to local cab people who can easily mis-guide you it is very best to take help from them for local sightseeing.
Overall this is the best place we cold stay and very thankful to hotel management and vanamala.

Room Tip: corner suits have abeautiful View.

We stayed for 3 weeks from May 7 to May 28 th . The Resort is well designed with a beautiful layout. I t is located at high hills surrounded by green valleys. The Front Office Staffs and The Front Office Manager Abbas were very Cordial .We can experience calm and pleasant atmosphere in the resort as it is 4 kms away from town. Restaurant food was very good . House Keeping was really good as they change the linen regularly and keeping the room clean and tidy.

The Best part of the Resort was Holiday Activities managed by Charles . Children will have a wonderful time playing games and participating in painting competition and other activities. There are Playing areas for children with some indoor & outdoor games, cycles etc. Most of the evenings they conduct Bon Fire and games , Charles is best as an event manager he just pulls everyone to the floor to participate in dancing and playing games.

During our stay my mom had low sugar and fell unconcious , in that emergency we contacted the reception and they arranged for a doctor immediately and helped us to admit in the hospital without delay.Events Manager Charles and the staffs were very helpful on that emergency time.

This is the best ever Service we can get in a resort at a hill station . Personally I was sad to leave the resort ,it was Such a lovely and fantastic place to spend our vacations. .If you are planning to go to Kodaikanal ,you must consider this resort as the first option. You can cherish each & every moment of your stay there.

I stayed with my family from 6th June to 9th June. We were in a 2BR duplex suite, which was good, excellent ambience, the mattresses, pillows were good:-)

However, they themselves accepted that they had done no major renovation for close to 18 years , and that was visible everywhere. Rooms needed to be redone, plastered, fittings changed etc, all of which were looking old and faded.

The saving grace was the scenery, and the food - really good! If you want fast service, go to the restaurant, don't depend on room service. It is difficult to have fast room service in a complex that has close to 100 cottage type structures, and the hilly elevation means that it is difficult to be very quick. People going there should plan their day to be a bit lazy, relaxed etc. that's the reason for a hill resort, as opposed to a city hotel with all rooms in the same block.

The staff were helpful , the activities were okay, and overall good experience.

If they upgrade the fittings, renovate the rooms etc, then they wil become the best resort in Kodai.

Room Tip: Try to get a room closer to the main drive way, saves you climbing up and down hilly terrain. Order...

we stayed for about a week.here from 1 jun to 8 jun 2012.in general we had very good time indeed.the resort looks old though very well designed.it is only 4 km from city centre but in a quiet locality. the view from most of the rooms is quite breathtaking. my brother could take some fantastic pics of glorious sunrises from behind a steep peak from the eastern wing of the resort.
the dining hall and the kitchen are very well managed thanks to Mr.Bhimsingh and his colleague and Mr.Ramesh.quite a lot of personal attention was bestowed to the comforts of the guests esp to oldies like my wife and I! the dining room staff were attentive and helpful.a special mention should be made about the excellent quality of the food served catering to all tastes
local site seeing tours were arranged to our satis faction.with friendly cabbies thanks to Mr.Tirloknath in general
the sewage treatment plant requires to be shifted further away as it is too close to the northern block.so0me times you get whiff of bad odour.
the rooms need a face lifting and the bed sidelight fittings fittings relocated in a more friendly place
on the whole i have no hesitation in giving a 4 star rating.
even though i had booked initially into the "lake view" on casual enquiry at the regd office at chennai 20 to confirm the reservation,i was told to my rude shock that it was still under renovation and no rooms were available only after my insistence i could get a room at valley view. during my stay at kodai from 1 June to 8 June 2012.i came to understand that it was functionally active.
I feel that the head office must collect their act together and be more transparent in their dealings with their members also in a more business like and professional manner. i would have been left in the lurch lf i had landed without my casual enquirey.there is big communication gap indeed
apart from this i and my wife had a nice time thanks to the staff of valley view resort.
