“Best location and service”

I stayed in the resort from 2nd Jun to 4th Jun and had great experience. Perfect location, nice service. I found Food options are limited, this can be one improvement. Overall i am very happy with villa retreat.

Small resort with limited space; Good valley view and share the same gate with coakers walk;
Best part is the staff courteousness and service; Food is good and the cost is reasonable;
The room is very average for the cost.They charge extra for the garden view, but not worth it. Better take a standard room or go for a valley view classic room. The television was probably bought 30 years back.Absolutely no modern facility in the room.
The toilets are horrible and almost close to a Rs.300 sort of maintenance. Strange, no separation between wet and dry area. This is the worst part.
They pressurized us for the check-out on time or even before, not even allow you to have a peaceful breakfast. But they do the check-in very leisurely in their own pace.

Value for Money! But the practise of putting a mattress on the floor and charging about 1500 Rs/night is awful.
The staff is extremely friendly and helpful.
Location is incredible and we had a bison walking into the lawn:)

Couple, stayed 1st June to 3rd June,

Location: The best in Kodai. Lake, Bryant park, Coaker's walk is right beside retreat. Has a breath taking view from dining area. For the price, I think this is the best located hotel you can get in Kodai.

Room: Did not book early enough to get a room with view. Nevertheless standard room was very well maintained and the view could anyway be enjoyed from dining area.

Staffs & hospitality: Got a pick up inquiry call a day before our arrival. The cab was there as soon as we arrived. Our bus was late by 3 hours, but still they didn't crib about breakfast timing. Probably the best hospitality we ever received during our vacation. I would give 10 stars to the staffs. Mr Javed and co, took great care of us. They even surprised us by presenting a framed picture of us at the time of our departure.

Food: We liked the food. Don't forget to order fish curry :)

On request they arranged cab for the sight seeing. The place was amazing and the stay at retreat made it memorable one. You can blindly go for this hotel. No 1 hotel, without a second thought.

Myself along with my two friends and their families had visited kodaikanal for 3 days from 28th May to 1st June, We had selected villa retreat as our hotel based on the user reviews in trip advisor.Whatever written by users here are 100 % true. I had stayed @ room no 108, the view from there was breath taking to say the least. Food served was of amazing quality .especially i liked the Chicken 65 very much.The behavior of the staff was exceptional , they were always there to help you whenever needed.The location of the hotel is extraordinary, cooker's walk is next to the compound , bryant park is just opp to the road, bus stand and market is hardly 500 mts away,Lake is in walkable distance.

These are not show stoppers , but these things has to be kept in mind
1) Classic Valley view rooms are smaller in size
2) There is no kids area available to play
3) Rs.300 which was provided as breakfast allowance is not sufficient considering the high cost of food items served over there.

Despite these minor flaws , i will definitely stay there whenever i visit there next time and i will recommend to my friends also

Room Tip: For view , pls select Room No:108 If u want bigger room , pls dont select classic valley roomds
