We like to explore places, and this was our second visit in 2010 (i know its a very late review, but the experience is still alive in our memories), it was a awesome experience, we enjoyed the stay in hotel. we hired a taxi for one day and roamed around kodai, rest all 3 days we spent in the resort only. I still remember the taste of Plum... there are so many trees.
staffs were very friendly. will definitely vist this place again.
all rooms are very spacious with living room and bed room of good size and attached terraces. the food is also very good. the service is upto the mark. only problem is that it does not have a good view. and also there are no fans in the room which makes air circulation a big problem and u may feel a bit claustrophobicat times. the management should understand that the fan is also for air circulation. The location is also excellent as u have the coakers walk and bryant park at walking distance.
Hotel was clean. Room was clean and tidy. Bathrooms were as per my expectation (was really worried about them :)) Location is good. Coakers walk and bryant park just opposite to the hotel. Bed was too small to sleep with the small kid. Though they provide an extra small bed but you cant use that with small kid. Room was spacious btw with one extra room apart from bedroom having chairs, dining table, extra tables, dressing etc. There was one big terrace to see the view of the valley. Nice maintained garden in the resort with so many beautiful flowers. But One thing which we did not like was they have buffet system on most of the nights. And they don't allow you to order as per your choice in their restaurant. They kind of force u to have buffet. Else u can order room service. But then food we got was cold and we could not order more chapatis. :( They should allow guests to have ala carte in the restaurant as per their choice. Btw they were charging Rs 400/- + taxes per person for buffet. So be ready to shell out Rs 1000/- per couple dinner if you go for it.
This hotel scores better for their excellent location and magnificent views from balcony/terrace. balcony/terrace is almost the size of a room. My kids have enjoyed playing on the terrace. Room was very clean and looked similar to a big star hotel room. Their food quality, in-room service and service at restaurant was great.
They have only hot water facility 5 hours in the morning and 5 hours in the evening. It could be a dampener if you want to check-out early or check-in late. They don't have wifi, they have internet access for extra cost. It was terribly slow. Folks at Reception need to know how to smile when they receive customers, not a big deal for me.
I have booked this hotel through makemytrip, I was there on 23-Feb-13. I thought it will be better or atleast descent enough for 2 nights. I didnt like the reception, he was demanding me to get hardcopy of voucher.
Good things about hotel
1. Like the food menu.
2. Waiters were really good in serving the food and roomservice. Shakthi was our favorite during our stay.
3. Camp fire and music at night was also good.
Bad remarks about hotel
1. Limited time hot water-even it was not really hot but just warm. It was difficult for us to use it for bath and head wash.
2. Room heater will be switched on at extra cost Rs 300 per night.
3. Reception guy was bit rude in dealing with customers.
4. Sightseeing car driver was really pushing for finishing the trip in half day.
5. Candle light dinner for couples in honeymoon package was not really candler light dinner for couple, it was with same crowd as normal except that instead of normal lights there were candles at our dinner desks.
I stayed in this hotel with my family. This hotel is located centrally and has a beautiful view from Kodaikanal. Rooms are quite nice and attractive. I would certainly rate this hotel as terrible because staff is not co-operative in fact very rude to everyone. No wifi, no hot water and terrible services which are are promised in the website. So many extra charges which were no mentioned anywhere. To me worst experience in this hotel ever in my life so far. NOT Recommended!!!
