I went from Bangalore to Madurai to Rameshwaram to Madurai to Kodai. And once I reached this hotel I just said wow....the rooms are so nice..they have a big living area with a TV, small dinning table and a single bed. A bedroom with kingsize bed with sufficient warm quilts. Big balcony which opens from bedroom as well as from living room.
Every evening they provide hotwater beds and scented sticks smoke to make rooms smell good and also to make them insect free ...
Food was costly. Breakfast had variety but was not tasty. But I would say that depends on your mood and everyone has different definition for tasty :)
My kid liked playing with Ostrich (YES they have them there)
Staff is very courteous. Spa was nice experience too. Sightseeing was also arranged by them - a little costly though(1200-00 for 3 hrs tour)
I had my return flight already booked else I would have stayed at least one more day. And 10AM check out is something like a norm in Kodai :(

Room Tip: All rooms are similar in terms of facilities. Its just that taking rooms a lower altitude is better...

We were at the resort from 22 to 24 dec. Great place ....lot of advantages:

The garden has a collection of some birds like ducks, turkeys, emu...which the kids enjoy apart from the play area, the cap, fire in the evenings was well arranged, everything ordered was prompt and upto the expectation. The travel desk also was great with the driver taking us to reasonably non crowded locations. The breakfast had lot of options to choose from.

The location is the biggest advantage with kodai lake , coakers walk being next door.

The room was neat and tidy..however if you are travelling with a large family the room size may be a bit small and the tv is in the hall and not in the bedroom

Room Tip: If you have kids go for the middle floor ones , else you can choose the higher ones for a better vie...

Kodai Resort made our honeymoon a beautiful experience with exceptional service! Right from the drivers who came to pick us up, to the service we received at the restaurant (the food was good too!), to the travel help desk, to the people at the reception everyone were one big team that made this experience one of the best we have ever gone through!

We stayed at the Executive suite cottage that faced the exceptionally breathtaking valley view. The room was clean, well maintained and adequately furnished. We took the honeymoon package that the hotel provided. The additional services provided in the package was provided as per our convenience. The restaurant Overdane lived upto our expectations with regard to food and service. They normally served a mix of north Indian and south Indian food. The breakfast is brilliant.

We also booked ourselves an Ayurvedic massage at the Ayurvedic Center located within the resort. Reasonably priced and again good service! This should not be missed especially when the temperature dips.

There is just one things thats a problem. Although the hotel provides hot running water, when the weather get a bit cold especially in the evenings the hot water isn't hot enough. Do carry a lot of warm clothes if your planning to visit the place during winter. It normally rains during December but thankfully it didn't during our visit.

There isn't much to see at Kodai its the weather that needs to be enjoyed which sometime dips to 3-4 degrees during winter. If you plan to eat outside the resort there are mostly vegetarian hotels around and maybe 1 or 2 non-vegetarian restaurants. Beware of the pepper the restaurants put in the food. Chilly is replaced by pepper! there is pepper in everything. So think and order! Hence eating at the resort is the best option. Its reasonably priced too!

Room Tip: Ask for the valley facing room!

We had been to Kodai resort hotel in the first week of November 2012, the room was ideally sized for our 18 month old daughter who had sufficent place to run around. The location too is ideal for sight seeing. The staff, especially the restaurant staff are very courteous and the food is excellent. The garden and the big lawn is an added advantage to laze around. The cottages are nicely spread out with sufficient privacy and offer some good views of the valley.
Overall it was a lovely stay with friendly staff who take good care of guests.

Room Tip: Choose cottages on the higher ground if you want views or lower ones if you want to have a garden ou...

I stayed at Kodai Resort for my Honeymoon. We had a nice stay there. I booked a executive suite earlier to trip date. Suite was really superb. It had a big balcony sit out which gives beautiful view of the scenic kodai. It had a vice nice compact bedroom with clean toilet. We enter into the suite with a welcome hall. I really recommend this resort for nice stay. But this resort may not come under budget hotel category. They have play area as well where we can play Table tennis, carrom and have some peace reading some books with scenic beauty at side. Its very near to Coalker's walk and for those who love walking its best place as well. Go there and enjoy Kodai.

Room Tip: Every rooms have a big balcony so one can sit there and enjoy the climate and nature.

We stayed in Kodai resort - 3 families of total 8 members - in 3 cottages. We loved the resort. The rooms were extremely neat and tidy. The staff was helpful, cooperative and prompt whenever we requested for anything. The resort is just couple of minutes from Coakers Walk and so it was a good location as well. We had breakfast in their restaurant and whilst I liked the spread, what impressed me is the quality of service as well. I found the staff ever eager to check out what each of us wanted and to serve them - whether it was juices or getting the tea - something that I find is lacking in most other resort. I strongly recommend this place if you prefer a quite outing with minimum hassle. And if you children, there is ample place for them to play as well.
