Decent stay only with friends.
Stay at economical cost and not too good for food and services.

Suggest stay good for bachelors

I went to Kodai in the Month of May. I was given a Cottage. The Cottage was having very small frogs in the room. It was a scary experience. When we complained we got a better room.
The place is nice for a group of friends but definitely not for a Honeymoon couple. On my visit to Kodai this was the Second hotel I had stayed on my Honeymoon and after having amazing experience at "The Carlton" I would not recommend this hotel for a couple.

From begining - Too fussy about booking deposits, didnt provide what they promised in the package deal. The look and feel of hotel rooms were old type. Bathrooms very small. Room very small. Big balcony. Furniture old types. Needed a lemon at night and the reception refused for it stating No Room Service @ 24 hrs. Finally after lots of fight when i got the lemon there was no knife to cut it. Food was below average.

Being in South India, we had heard a lot about Kodaikanal and how beautiful the place it.

I got an offer from Abn-Amro bank for a 3 nights stay at Kodai International hotel and we decided to take the trip. We took a bus from Bangalore to Kodaikanal and it was overnight journey.

When we reached there, it was surprisingly cold, didn't really came prepare for cold weather. The hotel is one of the biggest there, but lacks the basic facilities. The room were too dam and cold. There was No hot water supply, which was a big drawback. Places to see in Kodaikanal is if you can go to the forest and see the animals, but we were told that the forest is closed, so we can't go there.

Boating on the lake was a good experience, food and service of the hotel was okay, although they did not arrange for much of activities.

Kodaikanal no doubt is a beautiful place, but it is commercialized and if you go in peak season, then LOTS of people and even traffic jams. I would suggest to go in off season when it is calm and you can really enjoy the nature.

Overall a good experience, but the place lacks some basic tourism things and hotels are not up to the standard.

My first Honeymoon there and beautiful place with wonderfull lawn and this place has a small natural waterfall of its own and it is on the outskirts of kodaiknal, the managemant is friendly and very helpful, the place gets very cold at night and we were given a 1st floor room, and we were frozen, on the whole a decent place for honeymooners like me as it was quiet, large and helpful, they had few activities of their own like bonfire, sports, skits etc, we spent a week there and were totally relaxed, great travel desk, was arranging all our requests including a drop to Tanjayvur our next location which was 320 kms away in the hotels own cab, truly great service on the whole, one suggestion never order room service as by the time the order arrives to your suite everything gets cold and you feel the hotel is at fault, but trust me the cliamate is only responsible
