I have visited Kodaikanal on March 30th 2013 with my family, i spent two nights and 3 days at this excellent resort. It is hardly 2Kms from the city and is on the observatory road. Their service is exceptionally well and memorable. We don't ever feel that we are away from our home. They have well maintained rooms, decent library and playing area for kids etc. The hosts are really great and they are with you for all your needs. They treat / behave like you are one of their family members.

The resort is located in a beautiful place which is totally isolated from the busy city life so that you can feel the nature and get relaxed yourself, even though it is away from city the main tourist spots are easily accessible.

One and only negative about this place is that if you are self driven then you are going to struggle initially to reach up to the main road from the resort, this is due to a steep road to the main road, but this is not a major concern (put the first gear and accelerate completely), also i would suggest warming up your vehicle (accelerate and make it warm so that engine can attain the maximum powers when needed) in the morning before you proceed from resort parking area.

I advice strongly this place to who ever planning to opt for a homely. well maintained, peaceful accommodation in Kodaikanal. Go go for it, you won't regret.

This was our first trip to Kodaikanal...And we had booked into Mount Pleasant Boutique Resort after seeing the reviews in tripadvisor...After our stay at this place, was surprised this place is listed number one in homestay category in Kodaikanal...Would like to share open feedback for the benefit of future travellers...
~Location --- This is a big disadvantage. The place is located uphill on observatory road. And from observatory road, you need to take the lane next to the mosque...Those who are coming by car this going to be a real task when you have to accelerate to reach the main road. Locating this place is going to be difficult. There is no board or sign...So please call the resort once you reach Kodaikanal and they will direct you.
~Rooms --- We had booked the Premium Suite...The rooms are very clean and maintained well...We had a private exit.
~Breakfast --- You would get Idli with chutney and sambar everyday. You will get bored if you are staying more than two days...They should include some continental breakfast in their menu like bread and eggs, etc.
~Host --- The host Mr A.K.Najmal is excellent...Very friendly old person...And would always be there to help you with any request.
Overall an average home stay but overrated to be number one in Homestay category in Kodaikanal.

We do agree that every individual has their likes and views and we respect it. Kodaikanal is an Hillstation and the beauty of Kodai is the climate and landscaping. We are really proud of our delicious traditional food, which is in no way inferior to other food. On request we do serve continental food. Neither you have asked for nor had food with us other than the complimentary
breakfast. We do believe in serving home cooked food. "When in Rome be a Roman".

We stayed here for two nights in premium suit. The room has a cozy double cot, an easy chair to relax, 32" lcd with tata sky connection, neat n clean attached bath, sit out for camp fire. We felt we were very comfortable throughout like our home.. Rooms are maintained very well.. Homely food but limited options.. Hotel is situated in a very calm place where u can hear the sound of birds.. The hotel has a main hall, where you can relax sitting in a swing. If you go with kids, I think more than you, your kids will miss that place very much. Staffs were very kind..

If you look for a relaxation and spend time with you family in your busy life, NEVER MISS MT. PLEASANT BOUTIQUE IN KODAI

I can stay in this resort for 3 days and not go anywhere else in Kodai! The place is worth your time and money! :) Amazing hospitality by Mr. and Mrs. Nithin! They are very warm to their guests! When I spoke to them, I just felt like I spoke with my own parents! :)
The food is decent, tastes like how your mum makes ;) The arrangements such as fire camp, transport and water facilities are out standing! The rooms are cozy and comfortable! An amazing cottage to stay! I call this resort the best place in Kodaikanal... Especially when the "Silver cascade waterfalls" is so disappointing with so less water, this resort turned out to be a better place to stay than to roam around the town! The balcony view is breath-taking at 6am! It is misty.... foggy.... just the way newly married couples would want (With friends, its even more fun) :D Me and my friends didn't sleep the whole night and had the best ever fun talking and playing games all night! And the hosts (Mr.Nithin) dint have complaints at all! They were very friendly and they gave us all the freedom to do what we wanted! They made sure that our stay was fun filled! Loved that part here :) If u are thinking of a stay in Kodai, then it is Mount Pleasant resort without a 2nd thought! :)

This must be the best place to stay in Kodaikanal! Rooms are nicely decorated, spacious and clean. It's on the upper lakeside plm 4km from the town in a very quiet, relaxing, green & safe area. The house is surrounded by a nice green garden. The road to/from town is easily done by foot or bicycle. There are a few small shops nearby. Girija & Nitin are welcoming hosts, friendly and helpful. Above all Girija is a very good cook, she makes wonderful homemade dishes! Breakfast, lunch & dinner, all is available. I am a Dutch vegetarian and I loved all the Indian dishes and learned some more about south indian cooking. Don't forget to bring a warm jumper or fleece, it's at plm 2200m altitude and can be cold in wintertime. I had a pleasant stay and would come back if in the area. Very well recommended!

I had traveled along with my friends to Kodai. After doing a lot of research on all the hotels and resorts, we decided to go ahead and stay at Mount Pleasant Boutique.

Pros- The tariff at Mount Pleasant was reasonable as prices in Kodai are generally unreasonable and sky-high!
The hosts are very hospitable and we enjoyed their hospitality. They make sure that the guests are comfortable and well-fed.
The suites are neat and tidy.
All suites come with a television.

Cons- 8-10 mins drive from the lake. This is not a disadvantage if you have hired a private vehicle.

My group of friends have our favourite moments here at Mount Pleasant Boutique. I would definitely recommend this B&B. Personal care and attention, but don't expect fancy stuff like higher end hotels.
