The lake is an awesome place to hangout by, but the crowd makes you think more than twice. Best options - Go cycling / balloon shooting and stay away from the bazaar area.

The lake is a beautiful place .. as it was peak season .. getting a ticket was for boating was difficult . So we chose to ride a cycle around the lake. And the decision proved really nice. The path around the lake was good enough for a cycle ride.We had rented the double cycle for 50 bucks near the lake, single seaters are 20 bucks.

Kodaikanal in Tamilnadu is peaceful hill resort suitable for privacy and peace lovers. located in the centre of 3 Districts of Dindukkal, Madurai and Coimbatore.

There is beautiful lake with a circumference of 6 Kms and cycles are available for hire and you can cycle around the lake breathing the cool unadulterated wind, make a horse ride go for a boating.

Walk down the lovers path over looking the valley.

There are lots of Deluxe and budget hotels of various choice. Luxury resorts are also available.

Government of Tamilnadu's Hotel and resorts are also available.

Good food, lots of fruit varieties are available.

Home made chacholates are the specialty of Kodaikanal.

Best time to visit in October and November to enjoy the best season and avoid summer seasons where there will be lot of crowds and cannot enjoy the joy of hill station

Best place for relaxing, honeymooning and family visits

Cannot believe that this is a man-made lake...such beautiful surroundings encompassing 6 kms.

Go for boating...don't hire a shikara or row boat. Hire a paddle boat for an hour and enjoy leisurely. There are ice cream vendors at the brink of lake. Enjoy boating with an ice cream stick in hand.

Don't forget to have your camera batteries charged and have enough space in your camera because you'll be a shutter bug.

Amazing !!!

The lake has so many activities.. you can go for boating in 2 seater / 4 seater peddle boats having the all round view of the lake and mountain slopes. the lake is the only flat place in kodaikanal, with rest of it being on slopes. you can have bicycle rides, horse rides around the lake. you can spend a good halfday without getting boared.
