This trip was very sensitive to me as I have taken my 7 months old son. So I had to choose a villa so that it can help my wife in cooking necessities for my son. When I called Arjun to enquire he was very kind and patient to listen and clear all my queries. Based on earlier reviews I confidently edbooked. A day before of my arrival Arjun sent me directions to reach his villa. It is very nearby very popular landmark of Lake and BSNLtelephone exchange. Arjun gave us a very warm welcome with a excellent tea. The villa was clean to perfection. Very silent environment surrounding and perfect place for a family of 5 people. If you have your own vehicle or taxi the commute will be easy. Food also we can get home delivered from some good restaurants.
Overall the stay was perfect and Arjun was a great host asking if anything required every now and then since we had baby. Arjun understands guests and try to fulfil to his best.
Me and my cousin stayed at this place. We stayed for 3 days.
This is the best accom you can take in Kodai.
Arjun is a super cool host and very friendly. The place is secluded in spite of being in the main city.
The place is so homely that my family wants to do another trip and stay at the same place.
I highly reccomend Maruti Villa.
We enjoyed our stay at Maruti Villa. It is an old but very nicely maintained property with a large private garden. We enjoyed spending time in the garden and the lake view from the garden. The host was a fantastic. His suggestions about sightseeing and restaurants were quite useful. The kitchen was handy but it would really help if they can arrange someone who can provide homemade food. Overall, it was a very satisfying experience.
Pleasant stay and a friendly atmosphere. Good service. The place has a vintage feel. The bon fire that was arranged was really nice.
An amazing place with rustic touch. One gets an opportunity to stay away from the fast paced city life and with Arjun as a host, everything seems flawless. The hospitality was great and Arjun provided assistance whenever need. His place(Maruti Villa) is at walkable distance from the Kodaikanal lake, so one can easily commute without any means of transportation. One can have food and can enjoy the scenic beauty near the lake.
If it's Kodaikanal then it has to be Maruti villa... serene, accessible and rustic with a view of the town.
Note:Not for people looking for a posh stay.
As the description says, the place has a pleasant view of the lake and greens around. It's a 150 year old bungalow with two spacious rooms with attached bathrooms and kitchen on the ground floor. The rooms can easily accommodate around 10 to 12 people. There is a small sitting area on the first floor which has a good vintage feel. There is a garden and has big lawn in the entrance. Arjun was a very good host and made us feel very comfortable. With an amazing climate and an awesome homestay, it really is a pleasant stay and makes you want to visit the place again.
The place is exactly as the description says it is. Close to the Lake yet quiet and peaceful. Has a good view of one section of the Lake. Good for families and people who would like staying in old English cottage, a non-hotel, homely experience. Has a kitchen for people who prefer self cooking. Space to sit out and enjoy the view. Has a small garden, if u r in the right season you might be able pluck some plums, peaches and butter fruit. The cottage feels cozy and warm when it's cold outside. Worth the money.
