We stayed at Dalethorpe for 2 nights from Dec 23-24, 2012. Our stay was very enjoyable and comfortable in the colonial era bungalow, which has been very well maintained. The rooms are spacious and clean and the management does not spare any effort to make the stay a truly memorable one. The location is good and is walkable from the lake. Food was good and homely. We also had a bonfire and BBW chicken and Mr Shaheed was personally present to ensure that we enjoyed the evening to the max. We will visit again.

What a magnificent place Very homely and clean, good food , the portions are large , and wonderful staff that caters to all your needs. The room was indeed very comfortable, and tastefully done. The minute you arrive and see the place its paradise nestled in the valley don't miss the sunset its truly a wonderful sight. The beauty of the place is that you get to hear music where ever you go.This time the music played all through the day was Christmas Carols ever so softly without disturbing you. They also have activities planned for you if you so wish.If you need to get way from the hurly burly of every day life Dalethorpe in Kodaikarnal is the place to head out to.

We had a taste of the Colonial era during our stay at the beautiful Dalethorpe. We had booked an independent cottage. Manjeeth and his staff's hospitality generated enough warmth in the chilling winter. The services and quality of service provided are commendable. The place has all the necessary amenities to make your stay comfortable. The delicious breakfast and dinner does remind you of 'maa ke haath ka khana'...Amongst a host of add on features available at Dalethorpe is the bonfire. And you can relax around it and have a feel of the Raaj style of living. Although there are rooms available too but a stay in the independent cottage is memorable and should be in the Bucket List of anyone who is planning a trip to the beautiful Kodaikanal.

Room Tip: Independent Cottage is better than everything else and its definitely worth the moolah...

We stayed at DaleThorpe for only 2 days but a very memorable stay. The staff Manjeet and Francis went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. Even the owner Shahid is very involved and hands on with the running of the place.
5 stars for service and good home cooked South Indian food.
A must stay for a relaxed family vacation.
Regds to the team.

We are a pack of 11 people who had visited the homestay during 10/11/12 and 11/11/12.We have had all the enchanting experience and the feel of peacefullness around with the birds singing and the sunlight that directly falls in the room. The stay was fabulous and I will cherish the moments that we all had here together for years and decades to come. The food was ok and the hospitality was simply stupendous. Thanks to Manjith and Shaheed who left us with memories to remember for a life time at this home stay.

Room Tip: Rustic cottage is the best for a pack of 3 to 4 friends who want to stay in the same room
