The hotel is well maintained. Its Neat and clean. Food is not that great, but it has amazing food joints around. AL-Baig is hotel which right next to the hotel with great chicken cuisines. The location of the hotel is good, you can move in and around kodai and reach back without any trouble. Hotels are well maintained. If you are ordering food expect delivery at 45mt to 1hour late.

We stayed in this hotel for 2 days. Our experience was simply terrible. Although rooms are good, house keeping is worst. Unless you call them they wont come on their own to clean the room. They take nearly one hour to serve a cup of tea. We were not given bath soap. Even for bath towel we had to call reception. Breakfast was one of the worst I have ever eaten. Although it was complimentary I was charged for it.Only when I reminded them it was deleted from the bill.We had no choice but to have dinner here because there are no hotels nearby. We were charged Rs.1500/-per day for the room. For that kind of room service and house keeping, it is worth for Rs.500/- per day only. What is still worse is that for the entire hotel they have two copies of English News Paper and the hotel staff requested me to return the news paper after reading. And lastly they refused to accept credit card on the pretext of swiping machine failure. I would never recommend this hotel to any body.

Room Tip: Avoid this hotel at any cost.It is better to pay small amount and stay in a cheap hotel than to pay...

My wife and i stayed here for 2 days in Oct 2012. There is no service watsoever. The rooms are not as per their site. There was no complimentary breakfast. On asking the reception guy said "Once the cook comes we'll provide you". The cook apparently comes only by 11am. Eventhough our room had complimentary breakfast, we didn't get any. You'll lose your patience if you order anything from the non existing restaurant. My suggestion to fellow travelers, do stay at other budget hotels in Kodai.

I dint want to book a hotel which is close to bus stand with no view , so choose this hotel.
Overall, it was a good experience, this hotel had some positives and negatives:
Positives:
Good view from the room, there is a small stream and lot of greenary outside the balcony(if you book classic suit - 2200/-), I stayed in classic suit for a day, just for the view and this room is spacious too. since, we spent more time in sightseeing, we shifted to royal suite (1600/-) to cut down our budget.
This room too was good, but no balcony.
The manager(Ravi) there was kind, he guided us some good places and arranged for sightseeing. The other person called Goerge was very bad, he doesnt know how to treat customers. While departing, he dint even bother to say bye or wish happy journey.
Spacious and clean room.
Pleasent stay.

negatives:
Housekeeping is not good, until we ask, they dont come and clean the room.
Food was terrible. Never have anything there. Also there are no good veg hotels nearby, you have to go near bus stand. For dinner, we managed to order from domino's and pizza corner for 2 days.
Though this hotel is just 400mt to bus stand, lake and coaker's walk, walk from hotel to bus stand will make you tired because of the inclined roads (other way is easy). If you want proper food there is no option but to go near bus stand ( Astoria and hilltop tower are the best). If you take a taxi, minimum you have to pay 100/-, instead you can walk to moonjikal bus stop( 100mt from hotel) and catch a bus to bus stand, in the morning, you can even take local cabs who take you on seat basis.
The TV at the hotel is not a satillite TV, you get some non-tamil channels, but will not be clear. If you want to stay in the hotel watching TV, it will be terrible.
Hot water will not be for 24 hours, it is restricted from 7am to 10am and 7.30pm to 10pm.
If you have your own vehicle and plan to eat outside, then this place is a great place to stay - excellent value for money. I would strongly recommand this.
But if you want to spend more time in the hotel, then food, TV and service would be a problem.

I have stayed with my wife. Pathtic service. We went through Mayura package from Bangalore.
I asked siva priya as its reviews were good, but finally they gave this.

Pros: Hotel is good, new, good location, food is ok -- but outside some good restraunts.

Cons: worse service, in winter they failed to provide hot water, you can ten times to reception and they pick up once, they say you will get hot water -- but you will get it after a hour.
no proper food delivary to rooms, horrible, night mare services.
Worse service I have ever seen.

Room Tip: some backside rooms are having good view.

Kodai kanal is a very beautiful hill station. Hotel Silver Spring has great view. From Our room balcony we could see a small stream of water appearing like water falls. Room and service is too good. But there is acute problem of hot water. Also, the food is little expensive. Staff is good and helpful.
Overall experience is good. Its a budget hotel with great view, fair location. Abt 1.5 kms from lake. In Sept 2010 we had visited and per night room rent was Rs1300.

Location of the hotel is good. Room is also clean - Management was friendly and co-operative. But service could be better. This has been repeated in several reviews, but looks like no action is taken. Even if you order one cup of tea/coffee in the morning, it takes time to get it.But the restaurant in the hotel is not much of an issue as there are several other restaurants nearby giving lot of options. Some of the basic things - few of the lights in the room not working giving it a dim look - could be taken care.

Room Tip: Take the room with balcony. Provides a good view
