It is steeped in history. It has superb views from the main living area. It's a decent walk up & around. And, it's full of monkeys! Watch out though, if you look them in the eye they'll tear your face off apparently... don't miss this place but bring a big stick.

If you manage to find the entrance of the path, you are lucky! while they sell you a special entrance ticket + fee for use of camera, you just guess as climbing the hill that you are heading in the right direction! When you reach the fortress door, still nobody!
We wandered through the ruins for 2 hours without seeing an official on the site! just another couple of tourists wondering like us if we were at the right place. The ruins are very unsafe as well as the path to reach it.

This place is marvellous. It's huge and unkempt - and probably quite dangerous because of that. I wandered for hours without being bothered by anyone, and hardly even seeing anyone either. The palace at the bottom of the hill is gorgeous, but I liked the fort better as it seemed to go on for ever. If you walk around the walls there are great views, and inside the fort there are buildings and tanks in varying states of disrepair.
It's a steep climb, so go early and take some water and a stick for monkeys and snakes (I wasn't bothered by any of the former - though they are notoriously bad in Bundi - and saw none of the latter).

Really worth a look, not full of other tourists, its quite run down and this adds to the charm of the place. It is crawling with bats and horrible monkeys who are not to be trifled with. So if your scared of animals... don't go! Otherwise we'll worth it for the views of Bundi

The fort could be a set for a hollywood blockbuster. Its overgrown and falling down and we only saw 3 other people while we explored it. We hired a walking stick (10r) which helped getting up the slippery path and we were supposed to use to scare the monkeys. The hundreds of monkeys ignored us completely, especially the big group swimming in the well, which was very entertaining to watch. Great view.
