Wow what a bird park . So goid so beautiful so peacful. I will rate this a point above than Taj Mahal. Lots if birds with other wildllife . Very easy and not vey touristic . No hassle of getting bullied like other places. Very nice experience indeed.

Boy..is this park astonishing!!You don't have to be a Twitcher to appreciate it.We saw and learned so much in the 2 days we visited.Initially we weren't going to take a guide and planned to just poodle off on bicycles, but decided to take a guide for the morning. He was so brilliant that we kept him all day and booked him for the following day, too! His name was Krishaner KG and he has worked there for about 20 years.Lovely man and very knowledgeable. He knows where all the parrots and owls are nesting, where all the python holes are and is an amazing spotter. We wouldn't have seen a quarter of the things we did without him. On a bicycle you can go up all the little tracks that you can't reach on a rickshaw. We saw the biggest python I have ever seen in the wild that had just come out of his hole for a sunbathe. We saw 4 different owls...I thought they were nocturnal, but Krishna knew exactly where they perched...parrots hornbill, loads of different water birds, the wonderful and elegant Saras Crane, herons (assorted!) Pelicans, storks, which were nesting when we were there,so lots of babies on the islands.Parrots making nests all kinds of birds of prey...along with deer and antelope etc and wild pigs.
It was also a pleasure to cycle slowly athrough the park ...it is flat, thank goodness,as I hadnt been on a bike for about 20 years!!The peace and quiet and birdsong was amazing. We would both go back there in a heartbeat.

We had a great 4 hours touring the park in a rickshaw. Our guide rode a bike next to us. We were fortunate to have a guide who was a retired employee with 42 years experience and passionate about showing us the birds. We had our own binoculars plus an excellent pair from the guide The park is large and pretty with a large variety of birds, including large migrating birds, and other animals.

So many varieties of birds in one park. I could have spent two days instead of one. A must see for serious birders. Did spot a Golden Jackal.

This park, I think, is one of the best bird parks of India. If you visit this place in the right season (Jan to Feb is the best), you will really enjoy it. You either hire a cycle-rickshaw or a bicycle. You have to pay INR 100 an hour for the rickshaws, but the rickshaw guys double up as guides and they do a good job. Their English may not be the best, they know the bird names and the locations. If you want to move faster, hire a bicycle. However, you will need a guide who will charge INR 150 an hour. The guides know the park well, but they usually move you slowly from one place another, in order to make more money (you pay them by the hour). We went to the park in the afternoon, and our guide promised to show us many rare birds, but ensured we did not see them all. He, then, recommended we come back next morning. We got up early the next morning, and bought our tickets as soon the counter was opened; we hired a cycle-rickshaw and were able to see more birds in a short while than we could see while the guide was with us. We stayed in a hotel (the only one inside the park), it turned out to be a good decision. We spotted a Jackal, just outside the hotel, in the early morning, with just enough light to take pictures. What I do not like about the park is that they charge INR 50 from Indians and 400 from foreigners. Just don’t understand why.
