First thing first we made the right decision to stay in the hotel. Rooms were spacious nd on top of it the good part was the flowers on the bed mentioned WELCOME on it. The food was delicious. I am nonvegetarian nd i enjoy chicken soup nd the chicken curry. The very next day they had the traditional Rajasthani dance. I went with my maternal family but will stay there again with my family too.

My husband and I went here in the thick of winter so the one sore point was the extreme cold and the lack of central heating. They however provided us with a space heater and extra blankets. The hotel's proximity to the bird sanctuary and the proprietor's hospitality makes staying here perfectly worth it. In the evening, they set up a born fire and served starters and drinks around it. We wanted to eat dal bati being in Rajasthan, and the chef wasn't available that day, so the owner cooked it himself.
The rooms are comfortable and service is descent.

I had decided for this hotel on recommendation of a family friend, for a stay during this long weekend. I talked to them oh phone and had a positive feeling about it.
I had also talked to other hotels, and had decided on this one based on three factors -
(1) just 2 minutes drive to the bird sanctuary,
(2) Large spacious room sizes, and
(3) Tripadvisor reviews.
Luckily, all three points were correct and beneficial in the choice I made.

What I really liked in the hotel was the personal interest, both in the property, and the guests, taken by the owners of the hotel. This is a haveli kind of a hotel, with nice rooms, basic well managed facilities, a pool and two garden style open sitting areas. Also has a restaurant with normal-to-good food. I would not call the food exotically superb, but it is neat, fresh and easy on stomach. Prices for food were higher than I expected from a mid range hotel. A normal food for one person could range from about 250 to 400, depending on dishes you choose. The hotel does not have room service for food. The hotel also has a parking area, unlike other hotels in this area.

The hotel has limited staff, which is prompt, helpful and efficient, round the clock. Early morning requests and late night requests were met with ease and efficiency. The hotel also has a small souvenir shop, which seemed overpriced.

Rooms were of a decent size, bigger than other hotels i checked in the same area (near bird sanctuary). They were clean, and had a single sofa, a writing table n chair set, a television with not so clear channels, spacious cupboards etc. What I missed was a safe, which is much needed on a trip like this. Bathroom was of a good size with shower area, and a large mirror. Hair dryer was available. Hot water (in bathroom) is available for 3 hours in morning and 3 hours in evening. I wish it was round the clock.

I would recommend this hotel for a normal stay when you are in bharatpur, for a visit to the bird sanctuary. Defiantly better than other hotels in Bharatpur.

Room Tip: First floors rooms have a small balcony where you can sit and relax. They have a view of fields. The...

Overall a good stay.

Ill start with the Pros:
1. Good deal on a suite on busy republic day weekend, included b'fast and dinner.
2. Clean, well done up room. (ac, TV, mini fridge, electric kettle, room heater on request)
3. Large, clean bathroom
4. nice property, beautiful courtyard, great ambiance, nice poolside, well manicured lawns
5. food was very low on spice and grease, almost like home. we liked it but some others didn't.
6. personal service from the owner and his son, (Mr. Diwan, Abhishek) including directions to the hotel and they called us on the way to make sure we weren't lost or hadn't taken a wrong turn.
7. Great location, 5 mins drive to the main gate of the bird sanctuary (Keoladeo) and 15 mins drive to Fatehpur Sikri.

The Cons:
Only one really. There is a problem with the hot water supply of the hotel. its only from 6-9 am and 6-9 pm. That is when they switch on the boilers apparently. But you have to turn on the taps and wait a long time just for lukewarm water. I was told they were having some technical issues with the boiler when I complained.
This was the only dampener in an otherwise memorable trip. If they can get a handle on it and provide running hot water, they would be the top place to stay in Bharatpur.

Room Tip: Ask for first floor rooms as you would have a balcony and a nice view of the surrounding farmland. t...

We stayed here for one night on our way to Jaipur. Although the rooms were very clean and we had a good nights sleep, the shower took a long time to heat up and the shower head fell off after i'd turned the shower off then on again. The restaurant had good and tasty food but i felt it was over priced. The look of the place could do with some changes like new tablecloths and a fresh coat of paint on the walls. In comparision to other places we stayed we felt it was slightly overpriced but overall it was a nice place with lots of potential.

I discovered (and chose) this hotel through the favorable reviews on tripadvisor. I am happy that I made the right decision, because the hotel turned out to be even better than I had expected. Clean, spacious and well lit rooms and bathrooms. Excellent service. Great North Indian and traditional Rajasthani food. The owner Mr. Diwan Singh and his son Abhishek made it a point to get feedback from all the guests every evening. I would wholeheartedly recommend this property to anyone contemplating a visit to Bharatpur.

The weather was perfect and the sanctuary is really beautiful. The one hour boat ride through the wetlands and the wonderful rickshaw rides through the sanctuary are very very special. Some pictures of the sanctuary can be viewed on my Flickr photo stream. I have also uploaded a few pics of the hotel on tripadvisor.

Room Tip: first floor, where the veranda looks out towards the open fields and the bird sanctuary.

Stayed with my Wife at Surya Vilas Palace on December 22-23, 2012, Good rooms, warm hospitality and excellent Mughlai and Chinese food. Lighting in rooms too dull needs improvement , particularly in bathrooms.

The Father and son due the owners take good individual care and work as good guide also.

Room Tip: Bargain your meals etc all inclusive, as it is located bit far off from the main city.
