Amritsar is a vegetarians’ paradise with so many food joints everywhere. But it’s the Kesar Dhaba that stands out for us. The journey (mostly on a Rickshaw) through the small streets and high buildings to the Dhaba is memorable. We would recommend Dal and Laccha Parantha, a THALI though would be your best bet. The calorie conscious would have to take a break here as each order has loads of desi ghee!Do not fill yourself too much as a glass of LASSI after the meal is essential. You can also have a look at the kitchen. The place gives a sense of how food was cooked back in the days in huge utensils. Dal that they serve is cooked for many hours before it reaches the plate.
