This is a wonderful old house with lots of character and charm. Let down by the cleanliness which can be a problem with older properties but is no real excuse.
Lovely big room (one above the restaurant) with separate lounge. Bathroom a disappointment, old style hot water geyser, in a spa hotel I expect something a bit more luxurious.
Complimentary biscuits with coffee were wonderful.
Breakfast was excellent for Indian selection, European a bit less so. Coffee and toast plentiful.
Restaurants meals good but a bit mild for our palate (possibly cooked for European taste)
Can be difficult to find as tucked down a side street with not much signage.
Staff very helpful and friendly

We loved this hotel situated in an old house with bags of character. There is a central courtyard and lots of nooks and crannies to explore and sit. It felt so peaceful and relaxing. Bedrooms were clean and all seemed differently styled, some with an eclectic mix of furnishings that just 'worked' somehow. The staff were very pleasant and it was just a lovely experience. If you don't want the corporate chain hotel experience book this and forgive the occasional quirky plumbing experience, (you'll get those all over India anyway). I wouldn't have wanted to miss this experience and would happily return.

do not expect 5-star facilities but for charm and character, this speaks
there was much that was tatty but the ambience is lovely and the converted house with photos and paraphenalia to emphasise the family property exudes old world comfort with excellent well-dressed staff
the rooms are spacious, the facilities delightfully variable, the lighting bizarre but wi-fi free
breakfast adequate
one agrees with previous correspondents that this is quirky but give me this style any day, the pick of our hotels on a fortnight trip through Gujarat and the Punjab

Interesting accomodation, hidden down what looked like an alleyway, this being a heritage property we expected something "different" & thats what we had, we had a room on the very top floor - The Terrace Room, A/c lheating packed up almost straight away, as it was damn cold they supplied a fan heater which we ran all night despite the noise. Cleanliness was an issue the pilow & case my wife had was discussting, clearly the housekeeping staff were not being monitored adequately. Yet another room where you needed your own washbasin plug. Food was really good , as was the free Wi-Fi

Room Tip: Unless you like climbing multiple flights of stairs avoid the terrace rooms, another Hotel where the...

If you are in love with the faded Raj look and like small quirky hotels fine, but in winter it is cold and when the hot water system breaks down it is no fun. Food range limited, the early morning call (to catch a train) was missed and it is grubby round the edges.

This charming hotel is an Oasis of peace and tranquillity in a busy Amritsar.
The building is beautiful and full of charm!!
You feel like you are in a welcoming , stylish family home and not a Hotel made just for tourists.
Each room has a different atmosphere which makes this hotel very unique. The rooms are very comfortable and having tea on the sunny terraces is wonderful.
Staff is very welcoming smiling and helpful.

For me this is the type of property one stays at when traveling in India; A home converted to take guests, with family photos, attentive staff and a friendly lab too!
There are no standard rooms -some have a sitting room while others have a jasmine covered terrace. The hot water can take a while to come as it is solar powered but unless you are there in winter it's not a problem.
The small dining room serves home style food which makes a very welcome change from tourist buffets all serving the same dishes.
Make some time for a spa treatment -this is the real thing!!
Free Wifi in the atmospheric sitting room.
Abhi and his team will look after you so well you will wish you booked for an extra night.
