A visit to this place clearly makes you understand the sacrifices made during struggle for independence. Very emotional and a visit here has more impact than reading hundreds pages regarding independence struggle. One of the must see places in India with your kids.

If you have read about Jallianwala bagh massacre of 1919 in your high school text book then you will start feeling chills when you realise this is the place where General Dyer shot hundreds of innocent protesters. There are plaques that show from where the shooting was ordered and also a plaque next to well which says over 140 dead bodies were taken out from this well, mostly of people who jumped trying to escape the shooting and its said the well was full till top. At a corner there is a memorial and located at its periphery is a housing of paintings and information on the massacre. Not to mention the walls which absorbed the bullets fired by the British. Its located adjacent to Golden temple premises and if you are even little interested in Indian history, you must visit this place. Coincidently the date on which we visited happened to be the Shaheed divas that is 23rd March 2014. Amsitsar, you are unforgettable!

This place might look to you like a park but I must say this is not just a a park, This is a memorial of thousands of the soldiers who got killed during the fight of freedom.

This place is very close to Golden Temple, surrounding is little congested but once you enter the main park you will find its a well maintained place where memories of our people who sacrificed their lives are stored.

There is a big a "Amar Jyoti" as well as "Saheede kuwan" which might force you to think about the pain those people who fought for us.

If you are visiting Amritsar and have some respect for your freedom please do visit this place to pay some tribute to our freedom fighters. Jai Hind !!

Its amazing because nothing else can touch your heart so closely as the realization of death of thousands of innocent people inside that Bagh or Park. You feel so much more responsible towards your nation once you are inside!
