such a historic place , yet there was some dereliction towards the place, even by all accounts there was something missing , may be its a place that needs to be seen as a martyr place rather than a tourist attraction

I had an attachment with the place right from my school days. I was not able to bear the cruelty that was inflicted upon the poor protestors. It was great and moving to be there and know the entire story. Ensure that you have sufficient time to spend in the Gallery.

The moment I stepped into the Jallianwala Bagh, the first thing that went thru my mind is the well into which hundreds of people had jumped to save themselves from being shot by the British soldiers... I saw many people posing and smiling for pictures... I was feeling weird how people could pose and smile for pictures at a place were thousands of our ancestors were shot dead for no reason... the whole place was making me feel guilty for doing nothing for my country... The walls had pictures of many a great people who laid their lifes in the very ground which is now more of a tourist place... We almost felt like crying when we were reading thru the stories of the ppl who were killed in the ground..

Something that was going thru my mind for the entire 90 mins i spend thr was "how would have been the place been and felt in 1919 when the Jallianwala Bagh incident had occured... what would have happened and how were so many people killed without giving any warning to disperse from the ground... Even now while writing this review am feeling pathetic and the only thing going thru my mind is the well in which people had jumped into and the walls which still have the bullet marks which were shot at the innocent people...

My Salute to all the people who lost their lives in that ground ... You all are heroes for me...

If you are visiting Golden Temple, you cannot miss Jallianwala Bagh, as it is almost adjoining. Every Indiam should visit this place to pay homage to the martyrs of Gen. Dyer's inhumane atrocity.
