“Sombre memorial”
Reviewed March 2, 2012

Sombre memorial, but not well maintained. It could do with some maintenance and some additional history pointers.

“Heart rending, yet awe isnpiring”
Reviewed February 23, 2012

Located just before the entrance to the Golden Temple and forever entwined in the nostalgia of Amritsar, surrounded by stone walls is the site of possibly India's most infamous civilian massacre enacted during the British days, which also happens to be arguably the most inspiring site for every Indian. Upon entering, one is immediately taken aback by the sense of helplessness that those few hundred odd people felt on that fateful day. Its not uncommon to see people in tears, most however feel a profound surge of emotions, unable to speak and can be just found sitting quietly staring at the walls which still bear the bullet marks from that God foresaken day. Truly humble experience, and a must see for anyone coming to this part of the country.
