“Moving, even without the gold”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 10, 2013

You dont need to be religious to appreciate this place. You would be inhuman not to be moved! I would recommed a visit after dark when the temple takes on a completely different visage

“A holy place of worship”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 10, 2013

Sri Harmandir Sahib, also known as Sri Darbar Sahib or Golden Temple, (on account of its scenic beauty and golden coating - approx over 9600 kgs. of gold), is named after Hari(God) the temple of God. Guru Arjan Sahib, the Fifth Nanak, conceived the idea of creating a central place of worship for the Sikhs and he himself designed the architecture of Sri Harmandir Sahib.

The manner in which the Golden Temple and its Langar are managed in the most disciplined manner with a large number of Kar Sevaks is noteworthy.

“Amritsar - The Golden city”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 9, 2013

Recently i went for overnight trip to Amritsar. The city is like other places in India but the monent you go to the Golden temple you really feel the experience of self peace. The kitchen was amazing, the cleaness, and the way it was organized was really impresive for me. I spent there 03 hours and there is histroy at each corner of temple. The guide was really good and then we had a person from the temple who explained us good and leaning things. I really recomend this place to all the travellers...................A place better then Taj Maha.

“A must see and do experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 9, 2013

The Golden Temple is stunning from every angle and must be seen at least two or three times sunrise, midday and night to get the full effect.
We were welcomed with open arms and had the opportunity io visit the kitchens, share a meal and take part in the cooking process.
I would recommend it to anyone visiting Amritsar. The temple is stunning and the scene around it is what India does best- colour, movement, worship and grandness.
