Fantastic entertainment, lots of dancing, chanting, flag waving. Then the crazy marching in amazing uniforms... and to think this goes on every night!

Totally entertaining....must see and experience when in Punjab
We loved the atmosphere and the party mood and all the dancing..worth the long long wait in
the queue. Do be very very careful of pickpockets who take advantage in the massive crowd who pushed and that's when you let your guard down and the pick pockets strike.

This daily evening event was so entertaining. I have not seen so many high kicks from men who are not dancers or boxers! The stare down was particularly interesting. Both the Indian and Pakistan side has large numbers of spectators to cheer on their favorite sides. It is easy to get to from Amritsar. A shared taxi from near the Golden Temple will cost about 100 rupees. Leave by 2:30 - 3:00 on weekends as the event is about a kilometer from where most cars park and there are a few security posts to go through.

Wow ! Indian & Pakistani soldiers exchanging vows with each other, with patriotic slogans & songs sung by nationals on both the side of border. It rises emotions in each citizen & probably also gives a flash back in memory of life before 1947.

Awesome retreat, gives you a real Patriotic Feel. A must visit, ensure to reach around 3 pm AND better secure VIP Passes to have a nice and closer view of the entire ceremony. People with VIP passes are given special preference and are seated next to the gates. If you are late then be prepared to stand at the back and you may not have a good view from that far back. Weekends attract a lot of rush so try n avoid.
