One of the best places in Amritsar to relax and spend some time at. You can just sit and watch the temple here or the people going about and just contemplate on your life and plans.

Well worth the visit, even (or especially) for non-Sikhs. Observe the courtesies, and stay out of the way of religious activities. Be sure to visit the kitchens, and take a walk around the pool, soaking up some of the energy as you go.

We visited around noon period. The crowd was heavy but the arrangements were more amazing. Everything was smooth. We had to deposit our footwear in one of the windows. There are over 15 windows and there was not waiting to deposit or retrieve our footwear.

We walked around the lake and had some prasad.

Dont miss the huge carp fishes in the lake. You can catch them at one of the corners where they come onto the steps to grab eatables.

Visiting the golden temple once a year has always been the ritual in our family. Despite the crowd, tens of thousand of people, the chaos in the parking area, the temple is still one of the most peaceful places on earth. The moment you just sit and listen to the Akhanpath (prayers), it’s just something else. I salute all the people doing the seva there. Amazing.

The most beautiful sight I have ever seen. And wonderful peaceful atmosphere. A must see. And the feeding of thousands in the Langston hall is humbling.

This is one of the must visit place in Punjab. We have been here in the evening. We have walked around 1km before actual temple. This path way is nicely decorated and lightened. Both side shops are renovated with authentic old style which is so beautiful. Then we reached to temple. It's amazing experience. Temple is so beautiful, clean and peaceful. We were sitting Lake side and I have lost myself in the peace. I have got blessings of Prasad of Langar. Both kids (my son and relative's daughter) took bath in holy water lake. Temple of Harmandir Sahib full covered of gold is so beautiful and peaceful. It didn't take much time to visit as we went on weekday. There were thousands of visitors but it's nicely maintained. It's was mesmerizing that we didn't want to come back and spend some more time. But we had to go as we had a train to catch. I will visit again for sure whenever I will get a chance.

We had a long wait to get in because it was the birthday of the 4th Guru. Incredible flower garlands strung everywhere. Got to go in and see the holy book being read and see the incredible inlaid stonework which was done a couple of hundred years after Taj Mahal. Go into the kitchen - to see that organization and kindness of volunteers who are feeding 100,000 people a day! incredible. Would love to go back and volunteer there someday
