Not be compared with any food joint. It's all about faith. The langar quality is pure and taste good.

You cannot imagine but the Guru ka Langar is seved 24 hours free of cost to everybody. Everyone is welcome and there is no restriction for anybody. We feel good having a langar sitting in rows and eating together.

Would like to clear one thing at the outset - its not about the quality, taste or no. of food items being served at this place. Food is just average with limited no. of food items.

Its more to do with whole experience of being at this place and absorbing the GODS way of treating people equally without distinguishing between them in any manner whatsoever be it caste, creed, rich, poor, etc.

Just a wild guess but I believe more than a lakh people must be having food at this place everyday and people clearing utensils are some of the richest, some of the poorest some travellers who have signed in for a days service. Must visit to get a feel of this place.

The whole experience is great. It's again faith at play. So do not compare it with any restaurant kind of food. It's a blessing that you make it to the Langar and got your share of it. I found the equality of the place really heartening. You never know if you have a millionaire or a ppor man sitting next to you. All are treated equally.

While reading the other reviews about the quality of food, I really wanted to try the langar. We wandered in at about 11 in the morning and immediately found place to sit. I tend to have a bit of an issue sitting on the ground which is why I sat with my legs to one side. I was immediately shouted at in Punjabi by one of the helpers and quickly tried to sit with legs folded. While uncomfortable, I still managed to get through the meal.
We were served rotis and chole in a watery gravy and some kheer in the end. While portions are generous, the quality of the food left a lot to be desired. However, the initiative is absolutely brilliant. Feeding thousands of people around the clock must take a lot of effort and for that I am in awe of the helpers here.
Overall a disappointing experience only because of the fact that from the reviews, I expected much better
