“Where no inequality exists...”
Reviewed February 7, 2014

Liked everything. The volunteers distributing dishes, cups and glasses, the way roti is served and the custom to accept it, the payesh, and the men doing their service to mankind by washing the dishes...

“left me speechless”
Reviewed January 19, 2014

The "Langar", is maybe the holiest eating place in the world as it is inside the Golden Temple. It serves free food to everyone. It doesn't matter who you are or from where you are coming, you will be served this tasty food. This Gurudwara gives you a type of hospitality that will leave you extremely impressed. The menu items changes after every meal and you can also go and serve people in any way. It is a heart touching experience and a must visit place in Amritsar.

“GREAT experience”
Reviewed January 13, 2014

The experience is why you come to this Langar. It is a cultural experience beyond any "restaurant" in India. This is a free kitchen that feeds anywhere from 50,000-80,000 people a day. The idea is that no one should go hungry. Definitely worthwhile

“Free Food .. Heart touching Service..Must Do in Amritsar!”
Reviewed January 9, 2014

As a Indian, i had free food in many places.. but this one just touches my heart! What a service by this community!

Unlimited thick roti (kind of indian bread), green gram curry, Potato + carrot curry, kheer (kind of pudding) and water.. With just 2 roti i was full... Food was amazing, Very clean. Outside something might cost you Rs 100 plus! (not going to taste same, without any experience)

In two days trip to Amritsar, in both days i had lunch there! .. They wash dishes for 5 times! You can even join in washing dishes or help for cutting, cleaning vegetables etc.

You can even donate and get receipt for donation. Donation counter is in circle of golden temple (check pictures attached with this review for donation counter and receipt which i received for donating for their service)
