I was in Nashik for about 3 days and stayed at this hotel. It is pretty close to the bus depot. The room was quite well maintained and the house-keeping guy ensured we are comfortable with all the amenities (people wanting to be in the room watching tv wouldn't be bored either!) The food, in particular was kind of impressive, the thali especially - with everything being covered on its menu - sweet and spicy, and quite reasonable. I think it would be a great option for people who want to hang around, since public transport is easily accessible from right outside the hotel.

This is a pretty average hotel and too costly for what it offers. In fact it offers nothing compared with the cost. The hotel is very old and needs renovation, the rooms are small, with old furniture, linens are not well kept, cramped bathrooms and so on. As said by someone else, its ok for a nights stay if you dont have any other choice. Though this is very close to the Central Bus stand and hence might be convenient to some. The food at this hotel is good though! Thats the only saving grace. There is a Kamat hotel just next to this, dont even dare to go there for a breakfast, never saw such a shabby Kamat!

Room Tip: God bless you!!

Based on reviews I read in TripAdvisor .com I decided to try out this hotel for a night on my way to Shirdi. I must say, sadly the hotel was not what I had imagined to be from the reviews. To start with I was shocked to see the reception counter out side in the compound where they have a small cafeteria. It looked more like a cash counter. The entrance to the hotel was very narrow. The elevator was very old and needs renovation and overhaul immediately. The corridors too were very narrow. barely one person could pass through. The flooring in the corridor was partly of old mosaic tiles, probably 30-35 years old, and old Kota stone. The room too (202) gave an impression of being old, may be it was the same at the time of hotel opening. The room size was fairly good but the entire get up looked to be that of 30 years ago. The flooring again was of old mosaic tiles which had worn off and blackened with time. The furniture too needs to be replaced and so do electrical fittings and switch panels. The room is equipped with split Air-conditioner and a flat TV. But the sad part is that you don't have a remote for the air-conditioner. To change the temperature and settings you have to call house keeping every time. The TV is not at the eye level but at a height. This makes watching TV a bit stress full. The toilet is very small, congested and seems to be, again very old. The light switch of the toilet was almost hanging, which can be dangerous. The food was nothing great but pretty ordinary. Service was Ok. Location is good for those who want to stay close to bus stand, otherwise you will have a very disturbed sleep as I had due to noise pollution from the movement of vehicles especially tourist buses.Definitely not an stay to remember and recommend. The hotel need to be modernized and renovated immediately. At Rs 1700/ a night there are ffar better options available.

Room Tip: Stay if you have an compulsion and no other choice.

About the Hotel

The hotel is situated centrally, its a walking distance (5 mins) from Bus Stand and on the main road. There is a market area nearby and also Central mall at stone's throw. The hotel is more like a lodge. I was surprised that they had their reception outside in open (I initially thought its a bill collection counter of the restaurant :) which it was, but doubled as reception.

Rooms

I stayed in room 102, which was 3 bedded. The room itself was very small (not sure if all rooms are similar in size) but then it was neat and clean. As somebody mentioned, they do not provide cover for blanket. I had taken my own bed sheets, so was able to use it under the blankets they provided. The bathrooms were clean. The room had a LCD TV but then it was not clear at all. Except the first few channels (which were predominantly local channels), all the other channels were having heavy grains. So, having the TV was no use. Can do a little better if they can provide a STB (set top box) based service, which above all, would give choice of channels to see. So, as such, it was just good enough to bathe and sleep.

Food

The gujarathi thali was very good. Ala Carte dishes served were also excellent quality. There is a kamat next to this hotel, but that is hopeless. Though I was in Nashik for a couple of days and had food at different places, I couldn't find any restaurant better than Samrat serving good meal. But then the same cannot be told of the morning breakfast. I found it not upto the mark and options were also very less (ie only southindian menus to offer which was not that great).

Staff

The staff was very cordial and even the guy at the reception was well behaved and took down my instruction (and followed it later) to have the hot water to be readied (through tap ofcourse) as early as 5:00 am in the morning.

Bottom line:

With a price of Rs. 2200 per room (AC 3bedded), its really good (as others hotel charge much more and not sure of the quality). Its just good enough to have a good nights sleep (and good food as well). If you do not expect anything more, you would be satisfied with your choice.

Room Tip: As the hotel is situated on the main road, it can be quite noisy. If you are looking for a quietness, then ask for rooms that are not facing the mainroad. But those rooms can be a little dark, but its a bargain then.
