“Nice beautiful earthfill dam on River Godavari”
Reviewed August 15, 2013

Gangapur Dam is an earthfill dam on the river Godavari in the outskirts of Nashik city constructed in the year 1954. This dam is near a village Gangawadi and is 10 Km. from Nashik city. This was a very first dam built in the Nashik city. I visited this place while my way to Sula vineyard. The area near Dam is really awesome and worth visiting.

There is a garden nearby which serves as a good picnic spot, but you have to take prior permission of the Chief Executive Engineer, P.W.D. Trimbak Road, Nashik.

“Beautiful Gangapur Dam”
Reviewed May 28, 2013

A vast stretch of barren land leading up to the lake formed by the Gangapur Dam. Though quite a few cars and people come here, it's still a vast place where finding a private spot won't be difficult. Watching the moonrise as twilight sets in is a beautiful experience.
