Kerala tourism development cooperation has many hotels under its wing. One of them is the Tea county munnar. From Cochin international airport this property is around 3.5 hours away in rush. So please be ready for a long drive. The entrance of the property looks great with beautiful winding roads. The restaurants have a view of the hill.

The best way to enjoy Kerala is by a tour package rather than going for individual hotels as theres a lot of sightseeing involved + travel agents give you discounts. After much deliberations & negotiations with other agents we got Antiog Vacations to design a trip for us.It was right choice & under our control as well considering extra expenses

The hotel has the deluxe rooms. The peak season for this hotel is from 15th Dec – 15th Jan. The rooms at this time are priced at Rs.8000 per night plus taxes. The deluxe room will be around 150 square feet and has a small living area at the side. You can get the view of Munnar Mountains. You can choose between a king bed & twin bed. The premium rooms are little larger in size and would measure around 300 square feet. The rooms have vertified tiles. The room is on the ground floor and has an excellent view of the landscape gardens, infact you can even see the mountains in the distance.

You have a small private sit out which measure around 50 square feet where normally there is a nice arm chair where you can relax & read a book. The room also has a spacious living centre & a small writing table to its side. The premium room is one of my favorite rooms in the resort. The Suite room is located on the higher floors has a big king size bed. The room also has a small living space in the side. The balcony should be around 75 square feet in size. The room has all modern facilities. The suite has 2 rooms a living room & bedroom.

The living room has a sofa, a dinning table, a writing table & TV. The highest category room is the royal suite which costs around 15000 per night during peak season.

Services are poor though excellent by KTDC standards..thts sad..being frm a particular company & on a tour can save you but commoners who book through hotel desk are taken for a ride..Poor in most things..

3 star out of 5 for general people..for us it was 4 out of 5 however

We stayed here for 3 nights around mid August. It is one of the best hotels in the area. Market is quite close so one can stroll down in the evening. Staff is friendly and courteous. Excellent food served buffet for breakfast and dinner. If one prefers other north indian food, there are plenty of good options just opposite the hotel. Rooms are spacious and property is kept very clean. Small balcony with chairs to enjoy a cup of coffee with a view of green mountains around.
Loved the stay !!

We stayed in Tea County fora couple of days during our August vacation to Kerala. Being a KTDC property, the resort is very well maintained with superb location and courteous and ever smiling staff - just the right recipe for a great stay. This resort is the best of the three KTDC resorts/ hotels we stayed in Munnar, Thekkady and Kumarakom. Rooms are not ultra luxurious, but are decent enough for the price paid and one shouldn't have any complaint about those. One suggestion would be not to go for Ayurvedic massage here if you are going to Thekkady or Kumarakom.

Very Good location, Restaurant, Rooms and facilities. May be a a little more expensive than many other hotels in Munnar, but worth for what you pay. Many shops, restuarents in walkable distance. Very good for Families.

Room Tip: If you are focussed on budget, service and facilities recommend Premium room. Best option is suite.

Stayed for 2 days in August in the Deluxe Category Rooms - B2 and B3. Our first trip to munnar and though the journey was tiring ( cheated by non Ac instead of Ac sleeper bus from Blr to Munnar through KPN travels - pls avoid ) the moment we stepped into the resort and was greeted with lemon tea, our fatigue vanished.
Rooms are quite spacious for couples and bathrooms are clean. We dined only once in the restaurant since I love exploring other eateries as well, food served was adequate in proportion and quite tasty.
Very attentive and courteous staff. Location wise it is very good since bus stand and market is near by. We dined at east end and Mahaveer in consecutive days and it was almost walk able.
The garden is very well maintained and you get opportunity to click tonnes of pictures.
Don't have any doubt in mind while booking this hotel particularly if you have parents or children travelling with you - makes sense not to travel all the way to resorts on the hills.
2 suggestions :
1. Since it rains heavily during this time, there was a weird smell - require lot of room freshner, obviously the staff sprayed the moment we asked them.
2. Choice for breakfast limited and repetitive. Need improvement.
