“Not bad”
Reviewed March 11, 2014

we planned to go for safari in this wildlife sanctuary but there is no any kind of safari. when we asked about safari at echo shop at chinnar they told us that only thing we can do here is trekking. For wildlife lovers it is waste of time. We saw so many animals on the way back to munnar by road more than this. We have been to trekking in this wildlife sanctuary up to waterfall in this forest.

“Wild trek”
Reviewed March 2, 2014

After getting permission and tickets from Chinnar check post, we trekked to Pambar log house via Koottar and stayed overnight. wonderful riverside walk. This trip's special gifts were Brown fish owl,Grizzled giant squirrel, Indian Gaurs and langurs. Our car broke down when we came back after the forest trek. But the forest officials helped us to get a jeep from Marayoor 16 km away to get it repaired. (Tip - Only Reliance network available at Chinnar for now)

“Wildlife Sanctuary but no Wildlife”
Reviewed January 22, 2014

After a long drive to get here from Munnar I have to say it was the most pointless and disappointing journey I've made. Its called a wildlife Sanctuary yet there was even so much as a bird in the trees. We were given a guide to take us around and i have to say within 5 mins I felt like turning around and asking for my money back. The guy was useless, could not speak a word of English and spent the whole time muttering absolute nonesense. The only reason this gets 2 starts is because some of the views were fantastic however we were there for the wildlife not the views as we spent the previous day going to scenic views. My advise to anyone going is to firstly not go as you see more wildlife in a rickshaw going along the roads. If you however do go then make a point of only accepting a guide that can give accurate information and can speak English otherwise you may find this more irritating than interesting.
