I always wanted to see how green tea leaves become black tea powder! :) I am glad I visited this tea museum. The complete process of tea processing is explained and shown here. Also they showed a clip of history of munnar. The price of tea sold here is almost half of what you find in major Indian cities - I am yet to try the quality though but I hope it would be good!

The entire history of how the 'tea city' of Munnar was established, how tea is made, the work culture, the living culture, all of it is shown in a mini movie in the museum. The museum also stores up on artifacts that were used when the tea estate was setup. There are machines that demonstrate how tea is made from tea leaves. And of course, how can you leave without buying tea from the tea museum? Lemon tea, ginger tea, chocolate tea, vanilla tea; you name it, they have it!

An amazing educational experience!

I never visited any tea manufacturing unit so i was a bit excited to see it. I have got an idea about the same but not that great. First 30mins documentary about tea plantations in Munnar and when the tea processing started they informed us. A person came and explained the tea manufacturing for 10min and then we visited the unit. Then there was a store where we can buy tea powder and many more.
