This is a small but well maintained national park, though the waiting time for buying the tickets takes away a part of the joy. The Nilgiri Tahr, is quite easily to be seen here

I had been to Eravikulam National Park in Dec 2010 through a group tour. View of the Park is extremely beautiful as I had experienced bit of rainfall as well as fog during my visit. I also came across a herd of Tahr in and was fortunate to see a tusker elephant wandering in the outskirts of park. This park may not be the best place for wildlife as the Tahr itself is not very interesting creature, but do visit for good location.

I waited for an hour to get tickets to board the bus which takes you inside the park. The counter closes sharp at 4.30 in the afternoon and had to return disappointed. i heard there is always rush to visit this place but there is not much to see any way in the park- suggestion stay away if you do not want to waste best part of 3-4 hours of your Munnar stay.

Its advisable to go early in the morning as the park has in all 6 buses to ply to the tourist hence in order to avoid long hours of wait. The park opens at 7 a.m. One can site the Nilgiri Tahr, an endangered species. It would be beautiful site when the neelakurunji shrub blooms once in 12 years now due in 2018.
