Shifted here from the opposite wood side cause of too much noise, accommodation was Provided very quickly as the hotel was near empty, but no regrets, is close to town still quiet and silent, if you are not too finicky bout facilities the hotel is OK! Stayed at Archana residency on our first trip to Munnar, in fact booked through a tour agent, without reading reviews on tripadvisor. First impression was ok since the hotel is placed slightly on the inside and away from the main market place of Munnar. Checkin was cumbersome since they misplaced our booking and had to make a few phone calls before they allotted us a room. The room we stayed in was a premium room yet very small. Seemed like everything was crammed into one room with little space to move around. There was a tiny balcony attached to the room which was of no use since it overlooked the parking area filled with cars and the driver population. Our room was facing the main road and hence privacy was a concern. Do try to take a room facing the river and not the main road since privacy can be a concern. Food was very average on the first day and therefore we decided to eat out. During our stay there seemed to be quite a number of group bookings at the hotel and therefore the hotel team was struggling during breakfast service and we had to ask repeatedly for basic items such as toast and coffee. Hotel seemed un prepared for the groups since they lacked linen on one day.
Overall i think one must look around for better hotels in Munnar.

Room Tip: Try taking a room which is not facing the parking or the main road.

We stayed there for 3 nights and 2 days. Location is very good. In heart of munnar town yet very nice scenery. we had river facing room and golf court ahead. Restaurant is very good , you do not need to go searching for good restaurant when you are tired after whole day site seeing.

Room Tip: ask for river facing rooms

on 6/01/13 we checked out at 7 p m.std. room was already booked through travel agency, room offered was small, dirty, leakage in bath room,t v was out of order,no rack in the room for keeping the suitcase ,only one chair ,all these factors forced me to up grade my room as hotel management was reluctant to offer another std.room.i had to shell out rs.4200 for this.for dinner time limit was 9pm.over all my experience was not good.however staff of restaurant was very polite & helpful,

Room Tip: go for deluxe room only

Location just away..not far yet not too near. Reception guys need a lesson in friendly and professional behaviour and communication...they could certainly learn from the restaurant staff..their manner, politeness and hospitality behaviour...they can probably be promoted especially the young guys in the restaurant..

PLus points: interiors of rooms good....best thing was the breakfast..very tasty..excellent.....View from restaurant..friendly and well behaved restaurant staff

Minus:
Took a lot of time for check in as there was lack of cordination and earlier intimation of guests and their names before arrival..which is truly unprofessional

Rooms are too small .....really feels so and is the first thing that strikes u when u enter the room..flush not working ....very rigid attitude of staff... they declined to clean the room as they alleged that they had informed me to submit the keys int the morning before u go for sightseeing(which i was certain i was not informed)

Otherwise, average place for a night stay..

THis was first time i had stayed in a hotel in munnar...earlier i had stayed in resorts..they were all good.

Room Tip: all the same i guess

We stayed there for one night. The rooms were ok. Mostly clean, but the best times ahead...e.g. the drapes were partly molded. The breakfast was disgusting. The Indian food they served was so spicy, you can´t eat that spicy in the morning...In the evening kids were running up and down the stairs and it was impossible to relax. We complained about that at the reception and nothing happened. The best things happened the other morning. Before 7 o´clock the room service called us and wanted to know if we wanna have something to eat. Some guest really wanna sleep at that time!
