“One of Earth's power centers”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 24, 2014

Magnificent, spiritual. Visited it during lunchtime at the high school that shares this ancient site. Some teens were hanging out eating their lunches inside some of these archaic burial tombs. When I asked if they knew about these prehistoric treasures, several were willing to impart their knowledge. The dolmens are set in the center of a massive valley flanked by towering mountains. Winds tunnel through the region giving a sense of other worldliness. The drive here from Munnar is on my top 5 places to experience on the planet...tea plantations covering the mountains with lush vegetation in the valley below...so, so memorable.

“a forgotten piece of history”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 28, 2014

off the beaten path and not much frequented, but worth the drive and the setting. Nestled between the bluish mountains u can combine it with with a trek in to the country side abt 15 km further up where theres a lot of interesting fruit gardens.

“The best attractions are the ones which are explored on your own!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 26, 2014

These can be found at on hills around Munnar. There might be many of them but we found these near our hotel - The Wind.

It just started out as a small trek but with the help of the local villagers we found a lot of places which they called Muniyara. The view from these muniyara was too good. And there were quite big caves nearby with no bats in it. Like most of the hills around Munnar these caves also have water leaking through them, but exploring these places on our own makes this adventure more valuable!!
