We had to stay in Mandovi at short notice from 1st Jan 2013 and compared to the stress of Candolim, it was a haven. Food amazing, very clean - we paid extra for deluxe river views and definitely worth it. Negative - we experienced sexual harassment by male staff in pattiserie on ground floor on a number of occasions when simply making our way to reception which was distressing. As 3 women travelling it was very important that we felt safe but this compromised our stay. To their benefit, when we reported this to reception, they did take our concerns seriously. Breakfast was stressful - supposed to be self-service but couldn't get near the buffet for staff 'eager to help'. Positive - best thing about hotel was the High Tide bar. The senior bar manager was polite, attentive but not overly so and left us in peace when we wanted it but was always nearby when we needed him. Without doubt, he was a joy and made our stay so enjoyable. Overall, good service, very clean, good location, excellent food. Need to sort out some male staff's inappropriate behaviour.

So this is my 2nd time at the Mandovi, and I previously stayed in the deluxe rooms, and had a great experience. This time, I specifically asked my tour company to book at the Mandovi, and they booked the regular, or "Standard" rooms. The standard rooms are pretty small, and pretty meager in terms of aesthetics, and bathroom/shower/facilities, which could account for the mixed reviews. The deluxe rooms have a very Indo-Portuguese colonial type feel to them, which add to the Goa experience.

The location is perfect for Panaji, walking distance to church square, Fontainhas, and a bit longer walk to Miramar beach. As far as the rest of the hotel, the staff is very helpful and polite, the High Tide bar is a nice place to unwind with a drink and snack, and the Riorico restaurant is really good for dinner (despite what the reviews say). I think the mixed reviews on Riorico restaurant might be due to the breakfast, which while not bad, does not have a lot of variety.

Dear Mr. Julio,

Thank you for your valuable feedback.

The room differ in size and facilities depending upon their categories. The Deluxe rooms are great rooms for space, the views and the comfort. I would recommend the Deluxe room in future if you wish to have more space and of course the river view.

We look forward to welcome you back to The Mandovi

The room had a nice feel and was comfortable. Given the price charged breakfast could have been better. Decent staff

Food variety for veg needs to be increased. And airport drop and pick up should be provided.

Room Tip: If you are business traveller need not spend extra by taking river view room

Conducted a conference there.
Interiors with lot of woodwork. Glass and metal sparsely used. Gives that old world charm.
Food is above average. Staff very helpful and co-operative.
Only the deluxe category rooms are spacious. River facing rooms on 4th and 5th floor have awesome view of the river.
Centrally located in Panaji.
No BTC option and no payments through cheque.

Room Tip: Standard & Premium category rooms are like pigeon holes. Deluxe category rooms are spacious. Roo...

Thank you for your feedback which we truly appreciate.

The hotel opened its doors in the year 1952 and has maintained its interiors based on the same architecture and interiors. We do make changes keeping in mind the Hotel's heritage.

We are glad you enjoyed your stay with us and look forward to welcoming you back again to The Mandovi.

This hotel is the best in Panjim. It is clean and well maintained. The rooms are luxury and the staff are extremely kind. It's facing the Mandovi River. The food over there is so tasty and fresh. For breakfast they have south Indian food like idli, dosa and batatawada, e.c.t. It's a 3Star hotel but the services are like 5star.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the Mandovi river with the view are superb.

Convenient location, and the Goan food is pretty good but not spectacular . Cabs are easily available outside , so one can always take a short drive to Dona Paula or other places for a nice meal.
Rooms are pretty basic: old TV's , no complimentary water in rooms but at least bathrooms were clean. Some rooms have no windows that open to anything , make sure you check your room or insist on ones with a view of the river.
Given the price , I wouldn't stay here if it was a personal trip, but its OK for business.

Room Tip: get a river facing room
