“Heritage Style”
Reviewed May 2, 2014

The hotel is very close to Panjim main city. Located right at a corner giving you a view of some old heritage style architecture around, this place is quite a attraction with tourist for good food. Though we did not stay here, but we did have good food and enjoyed the service which was prompt and very efficient. To our surprise we had flight to catch and the only place open and serving you quick good lunch way before noon in goa... its really difficult to get something quick in GOA. but we enjoyed a good masala fish, tiger prawns, lassi, lemonades and some fresh scallops. The budget was pocket friendly and yummy food. thumbs up to a place in goa to serve you goan food - though not at the Beach. The place has a old charm feel with old wooden furniture but the decor is clean and simple.

Panjim Inn offered us a great, relaxing stay. The heritage building, the comfortable rooms and the artwork all provide a cultural tourist exactly what they need to feel at the heart of Goa on the less "beachy" side, yet close to the beach. And the food was delicious. Service was prompt and courteous, and rooms tasteful and well-equipped. It is at the centre of the city, so taxis and transport is easily available just outside the hotel. The Gitanjali Art Gallery that is part of the hotel is one of the best galleries (perhaps the best!) in the city and offers a quiet evening distraction with its own cafe and quality art for purchase. The ideal place for those looking for boutique hotel type accommodation at reasonable prices in a restful, sophisticated neighbourhood.

We always stay on the beach when in Goa (obviously!) but have recently discovered that there is another side, Panjim, the Latin quarter and in particular the Panjim Inn. Really well maintained and converted home(s) fantastic staff, food good, owner who has a personal touch and the best sense of humour not to mention cashew fenny, off his estate. Stay here, eat here or in the many nearby restaurants, sleep in a room fit for a raja and still get to the beach. Will be back for sure.

Room Tip: We stayed in the main block overlooking the canal, but all rooms seem to appointed well.

I spent 3 amazing days in Panjim Inn. This unique place should be experienced by everyone, who visits Goa! I was amazed about the warm hospitality, about the all-around-attention of every person, working in this hotel. The colonial furniture and beautiful paintign on the walls give a special, homely atmosphere. It remembered grandma's house - so peaceful, so familiare was it here. I felt, I am at home. Enjoyed the nights in the well furnitured, very clean and spacious room, hade a good sleep in the huge, comfortable rose-wooden bed. My bathroom was well equiped, and with a special touch, as its entrace was from the balcony - I really enjoyed this special gift. It was relaxing and peaceful, sitting on the veranda, enjoing the delicious food and overviewing the quiet street and Panjim People's, opposite to Panjim Inn. The lovers of art can enjoy amazing paintings of traditional and modern goan art in the Gallery. In the first floor, there are some more rooms with selected furniture (great carvings!).
Enetring Panjim Pousada, I was fascinated by the simplicity of the traditional hindu architecture: the patio with a tulsi plant in the middle, great paitings and carvings all around - great and impressive experience! This part of the city is very quiet. Walking on the streets arond the hotel, we can experience the very local atmosphere with nice houses and a small hindu temple, but the famous sites of Panjim are also in waling distance.
First and last, I highly recommend Panjim Inn to everyone, who wants to experience real goan hospitality in a very special athmosphere. This is a place with taste and heart, what I never forget. Thank you, Mr. Jack. Thank to all of you.

We stayed at the Panjim Inn for 5 nights. There is a beautiful People's, right across the road too. The Pousada also has a distinct character. Great to have three choices in one hotel. Nice to see paintings by local artists all around. The breakfast was good and we could return to a pleasant evening dinner at the hotel after a long day out sightseeing. Friendly staff. Good, reliable taxis available. Enjoyed walking the lanes around the hotel - very local, and peaceful.
Greatly enjoyed our stay

An oasis of calm in an otherwise not very notable town. Nice old furniture and busy tiling in bathrooms. Lovely restaurant on veranda, but menu needs a little attention - no brown gravy please! But we did enjoy the tiger prawns and the Goan speciality food. The immediate area round the hotel is quite nice, but the river was so smelly especially at low tide. A trip to Old Goa is worth while, especially if you take a local bus.

Ms.Claire , thank you for taking the time to review us, it's always a pleasure to hear from our guests.

Glad to hear you enjoyed your traditional Goan meals with us at the Verandah restaurant and thank you for your suggestions regarding the menu , we will take it up with our team at the kitchen .

The smell from the river during low tide is indeed a problem due to a Garbage collection center across the river. We hope the Government will sort it out and get the garbage processing plant going soon.Meanwhile we hope to find some ways to alleviate the situation .

We are glad that you enjoyed Panjim Inn as a peaceful base from which to explore the rich culture and history of Fontainhas and Old Goa .

Truly an amazing experience. If it's old-world charm you're looking for this place has oodles of it. That combined with all the modern day amenities, great food and friendly, ever-helpful staff makes the stay here truly enjoyable. Jack, the owner, also accompanied us on a heritage walk through Panjim at night which he and some locals organise on a weekly basis. My family and I felt totally relaxed and at ease. I would most definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to enjoy the traditional Goa experience.

Room Tip: I would recommend Room 14 and the rooms in the new annexe
