Wonderful, fabulous, awesome, peaceful, and truly heritage
Very nice wooden architecture, very comfortable rooms with nice Mosaic tiles in the gallery,
Great restaurant with beautiful carved tables and chairs, tasty good quality food, very nice hospitality.
Though its not by the beach side but doesn't bother you.
It's very peaceful and pleasant place in the middle of the city.
Absolutely recommend...

Excellent place to unwind and close to main Panaji....rooms rustic, elengant and very welcoming... my friends had a river facing room and enjoyed the tranquility of the water! The service in the restaurant were attentive very efficient and friendly. They went out of their way to make their stay comfortable. A real Home away from Home indeed!! Thanks guys for giving them a super experience....

They call this heritage dwelling and they even claim to be in league with forts....either those forts must be sand walls or panjim owners must be so ignorant. whatever, the bottom line is the gullible traveller suffers high price for mediocre hotel. but i would not blame only the landlord or manager as the quality of panjim inn and services are in line with rest of the market in goa. goans are highly arrogant and super greedy. they seem to enjoy suffering of visitors to goa. i really dont understand why a 20mtrs dungeon should cost Rs. 3500 per night?!!!, this place if compared with star rated hotels must be coming in minus 3 to minus 4 star category except for the price they command. the property look from outside is country house and entrance to dwelling rooms are through maze like passages ill lit. some good things are they supply good quality shampoo, moisturiser and soap. Water is there. Wireless is internet less. Food prices are comparable to 5 star prices. location is horrible or Rs 50 minimum from 500mtrs away locations. roads leading to inn are small, narrow and gulley like. Reception staff are okay kind, at least they were not arrogant. I would never like to go near to this property though I dont hate that. The sad truth is there are not many hotels who have some standard, if they do then they will demand sky high prices. I pray that hoteliers from Chennai, B'lore and H'bad dont stay in goa hotels, lest they could simply decide to triple their room rates seeing that their properties are underpriced (though they too are not less priced is something else).
There is no Gym, no swimming pool. there is open to mosquitoes dining hall. no break-fast buffet though they say it is complimentary. The juice they served was good quality.if someone stays in the rooms adjoining the road, it could be too noisy and i can assure sleepless nights. fortunately the room i stayed was bit away from the rooms facing road. No views...

Room Tip: only if you stay in 101 or 201, may be you will have less noise.

Worldwide, adaptive reuse has been the cornerstone in efforts towards heritage/cultural conservation. Adaptive reuse is self-defeating if it fails to protect the building's heritage value and its appearance.

We believe that this basic principal has been exercised in the restoration and conversion of the WelcomHeritage Panjim Inn , our 130 year old family home in Asia’s only Latin Quarter of Fontainhas , into a Heritage Hostelry. Our efforts in conservation and restoration were recognised almost 2 decades ago when we were classified as Goa’s First Heritage Hotel by a Committee headed by the Secretary Tourism which incidentally classifies 5 star properties as well. In 2002 and in 2011 we were ranked amongst the World’s 50 best budget hotels by The Independent,UK and the Guardian , UK respectively. Since then we have made many more improvements on a continual basis and are sorry that we have been unable to meet the reviewer’s expectations

Latin Quarters the world over are in the old part of town where gullies and winding alleyways are endemic. To most of our visitors they exude a historic charm and to others they may be ugly. We regret that the reviewer has found it so. The beauty and old world charm of Fontainhas has been recognized and the precinct has been considered for World Heritage status.

We are sorry that the reviewer has found our tariffs exorbitant. Technically given the hours of check in and check out the guest has stayed three days with us and we have charged him for only two and that too with a discount.

Our restaurant serves fresh, authentic Goan and Indian food in an open air verandah restaurant which lets you muse over the old world charm of our neighbourhood. The rates we believe are fair, reflective of market rates and considerably lower than 5 star rates . We are sorry that the reviewer found them expensive.

During the lean season we switch from a buffet to ‘a la carte’ service. This was explained to the reviewer and he was requested to take his pick of the a la carte menu. The breakfast remains complimentary and most of our guests have found this a satisfactory arrangement.

Being part of the WelcomHeritage Group which offers 40 exclusive Heritage Hotels in India ranging from Palaces to Havelis, Forts and Old Mansions all restored and converted into Heritage Hotels has helped us reach out to people who appreciate how different the experience of visiting each of these varied heritage buildings can be .We also conform to basic minimum standards compatible with a comfortable ethnic stay.
Being a Latin Quarter property located in a crowded precinct we do get noisy vis a vis a Resort type establishment. To overcome this we are installing double doors and windows in a way that is aesthetic and in keeping with the heritage structure and facade.

We are also working towards providing a dip pool/Jacuzzi along with a spa for our guests within the constraints of our space and structure which are considerable.

Notwithstanding the foregoing we regret not having met the expectations of the reviewer. We are also sorry that his stay in Goa was unhappy and he found Goans to be greedy and arrogant. Goa is tourism dependent and generally Goans are extremely warm and hospitable to visitors. If some of our fellow Goans have given the reviewer a contrary impression we apologise for the same and do hope that his next visit to our little State will be a happier one.

We are actually staying here right now having returned here after a trip to Kerela, we loved it so much it was a simple travel decision. The staff are friendly and attentive, the breakfast terrific, the decor absolutely beautiful and the rooms are real home away from home. Our two year old calls this our big house and it has been lovely with how everyone has welcomed him and catered for him. The setting in the Latin Quarter is perfect for wandering the neighborhood and you can easily walk into the city Centre or get a taxi outside the reception or a tuktuk around the corner if you prefer. There is a wee supermarket along the road for any essentials and the meals at the restaurant here offer a huge range of beautiful food from traditional Goan to other Indian, European style and Chinese, everything we have had has been delicious. We are staying in the Panjim Peoples. The gallery below here is definitely worth a visit too... have already shopped there but plan to visit again before we farewell Panjim. Fantastic place to be to relax, enjoy, explore from and chill out.

Room Tip: Room A is really spacious with a balcony, very romantic setting. All the rooms in the Panjim People...

Fabulous 3 day stay here - Valerie on reception was so helpful and gave us a great deal as we were 6 traveling together.

Beautiful rooms, friendly staff, great breakfast included, great restaurant/room service if you want to eat in.

We did two day tours from here - Dudhsagar waterfalls and spice gardens/temples/old goa. Best part of our time in Goa by far.

Would recommend it highly and very happily stay there again!

There are places where you stay because for the sake of it. Then there are places that stays with you even after you come back. Panjim Inn is one of those. This is a place, that will make you come back each time you visit Goa. Panjim might not be crowded with tourists as compared to North Goa, but if you want peace of time, some time for "yourself" and a place that celebrates history; this should be your destination. Yes, this property has restored heritage and you can find it everywhere. And they give you complete experience in terms of spending some quality time.

Food is generally not so great in majority of the hotels, Panjim Inn is a sure exception. The food and service quality is fabulous. The restaurant area and the theme is par excellence.

To sum it up, if you are coming to Goa, surely give it a try. And if you are in Panjim, then this HAS to be your first choice...
