Old goa has many places to enjoy n spend good time when you are finished with beaches.
Two old churches ,two temples are worth visiting.
A science museum is there
And evening cruise over mandovi river.
Cruise is too good for the enty charge 150rs,huge crowd will be there, have to wait for long to get into ..
Theres a dj,snacks for timepass..can have a better view of mandovi river, casino royale

This place is a historian delight. I would like to visit this place again in my next visit. I visited twice in this visit but still could not complete the entire area

pleasant enough way to spend a couple of hours looking at the three churches, all within a couple of hundred metres of each other. was extremely hot inside the churches so we didnt linger too long.

Old Goa was the origional Portugese settlement, but all that survives are these enormous old churches & cathedrals in old Goa and a few defensive forts along the coast.
The location by the river is damp & mosquito prone & the priests & soldiers died of dystentery & malaria so the settlement was eventually moved to Panjii down river & nearer the coast, but their amazing churches remain as a monument to them.
Interesting & you can get there by bus or taxi from Panjii - don't miss the salt pans & collection along the way, and if you have time there's a bird sanctuary on an island accessible by ferry

Old Goa is a good place for history buffs to explore. Good to read about the place in detail before going.
