The suites upstairs are well maintained old goa architecture at its best. The manager was efficient and hard working but a bit standoffish and defensive- this was probably due to a language problem more than personality. The owner Ernesto though was friendly on the phone and quickly upgraded us to a suite after a misunderstanding on the room description listed in the booking.
The taxi had a difficult time finding the place by name but it is directly below a famous temple and next to a well spring so with these landmarks it would be easy to find.
We were wowed by the attention to detail in the architecture and beautiful colors of light coming through the stained glass windows. There is a playground in front of the house my children played at while I watched them from the top porch.
We enjoyed the vibrancy of life in the
neighborhood from the neighbors chickens to the local bicycle vendors that come with fresh bread in the morning.
Luckily we grabbed some of that fresh bread for 3 rupees each as the breakfast served by the inn is mediocre with stiff old white toast, sugary jam, and butter and some basic tea bags.More
