Review of Undavalli Caves

Undavalli Caves
Reviewed July 14, 2014

Place is easy to find and less than 30 mins from vijayawada.the place was very well maintained. The outer facade was impressive and there were statues of elephants and lions which were beautifully carved. There is even a temple on the top floor with a beautiful statue of lord Vishnu. The views from the top were really impressive and u can see meandering Krishna river with vijayawada and hills in the background.

Huge reclining Vishnu statue in the caves-few steps to climb only so it was easy to climb the four floors
Badly maintained though heritage site-entrance tickets were five rupees only

I went here with a friend and his family, It is great for people who like old places, I advise to get a guide as they give you a lot of interesting information. The great historic place was a touch of both buddhism and hinduism....
