Chris is the manager and is great. She will help you every which way to ensure your having a great time. The rooms are nice and the view from the main deck is awesome. The breakfast cooked by the wonderful Heidi are fantastic.

Sweet -Sweet - SAHWEEEEET!! That is how I would describe everything about Cocolobo in 1 word. From the amazing capable manager, Krys & her staff to the delightful stroll down the flower laden paths to the beach & town to the accessibility for all our tours to the peaceful setting to the well thought out rooms with private decks to Krys's furry little sidekick J.J. that greeted all the guests every morning... This is the perfect place to stay in Roatan to engage and enjoy everything this magical place has to offer. I won't even take a moment to look elsewhere when I go back to Roatan -and I will go back as much as possible.

Room Tip: All rooms have their individual charm and not one is better than the other. Beautiful

We stayed at Cocolobo for just over a week, and it was perfect! Our only small issue (with a poor shower-head) was resolved with a new shower-head immediately. The manager (hi Krys!) does a fantastic job of keeping everything in order. The staff are friendly and welcoming too, making a great breakfast every morning. The rooms are spacious and all look out onto the sea. We didn't use the air-con as the sea breeze coming through was just enough to keep us cool each night. I can't imagine better value on Roatan for the price.

The location is good, just a short walk from West End restaurants and dive operators. Not being right in the heart of town is really nice, as there is no noise at Cocolobo in the evenings aside from the sea moving against the coast.

The pool is well maintained and cleaned - always good for a quick dip to cool off. You can of course snorkel in the sea too right out front of the hotel.

Room Tip: Upstairs for a better view. Aside from that all the rooms face the sea.

We spent the first week in March at this fantastic hotel in Roatan for a week of diving. This hotel was recommended originally by a friend, and it did not disappoint. Very well managed establishment, with beautiful rooms and garden.
The hotel is located in a quieter part of West End, so we could relax and be away from the main street hustle, but get to it any time with a short 5 minute walk. All the rooms are ocean-facing with great balconies, so I loved coming back from the dives and reading/relaxing there. There is all day access to drinking water, tea, coffee, and a bar run on an honor system. So one can enjoy their stay almost like home. Highlights were the attentiveness of the staff, great management, beautiful views.

Room Tip: I prefer the second floor, but all are ocean facing with a good breeze. AC is available in each room...

I traveled to Honduras with a group of friends...we literally knew nothing about the island or any places to stay, so we looked on TA. After a few clicks we quickly realized that Cocolobo was where we wanted to stay; we didn't make a mistake. Krys, who runs the hotel, took care of from start to finish. Everything from restaraunts, Scuba Dive reccomendations, and everything in between...Krys and the rest of staff at Cocolobo bent over backwards to make sure we were enjoying ourselves.

The property itself is located, in my opinion, on the best part of the island...West End. If you like to scuba dive and enjoy good people, this is the spot for you. West End, and Cocolobo, allows you to enjoy the island experience while staying away from the major commerical parts- yet, you can easily get there.

There were 3 of us who intitially arrived, and by the end of the trip there was a total 7...I think I can speak for all of us that we had a great time! It was an experience we won't ever forget. I highly reccomend Cocolobo...Krys, the GM...certainly makes it a special experience for everyone!

My husband and I stayed at Cocolobo for a week in January 2014 and although we had no idea where on the island to stay, we were glad we chose the West End, and specifically Cocolobo. Krys is fantastic - upbeat, friendly, has great tips about the island (baby oil to keep away sand fleas, food/drink specials on the island, etc.), and you feel like you've made a good friend. The breakfast every morning was delicious - and if you bought some of your own food (my husband and I bought plaintains everyday), they would cook it up for you. The honor bar and lobby were great - it provided an area for guest to hang out and we made some friends that we hung out with all week. Our favorite part about Cocolobo was that it was a short walk to everything in the West End (fresh seafood, amazing thai food (yes, THAI food), awesome diving!), and still far enough away that it was quiet and relaxing when that is what we wanted. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of five was that it was definitely "rustic." Our shower head kind of just dribbled water, and there were no toiletries provided. However, we preferred that to the commercialized West Bay. We loved it so much that we are already dreaming about going back there soon!

Cocolobo was exactly as described. The place had a wonderful view of the ocean, peaceful, clean and well managed. For the price, it was a great value. The rooms probably have seen better days, but were clean and functioned well. We did not get much water pressure in the shower when we moved from the bottom level to a top level room. The bottom one had great pressure, but the top one was inefficient. The sink had great pressure, so that was hard to understand. The bottom room was fully screened, but the top room had two screens missing on one side of the room. There was plenty of closet space and shelves, nice refrigerator along with a security box. They had bottled water at the bottom of each building so you had plenty of free drinking water, which was really a nice touch. The honor bar for beer, wine and sodas was very convenient. The included breakfasts were always very tasty and fulfilling. Heidi always took care of us with a beaming smile. What really makes the experience special is the outgoing, bubbly manager Krys. It started with her quick responses via emails, which she answered 101 questions we had about the resort and Roatan in general before reserving a room. She warmly greeted us upon our arrival, giving us all sorts of good advice about the island in terms of where to eat, shop and snorkel. She even lent my wife a wet suit when she was getting some jelly fish stings. When we checked out and moved for a stay at West Bay, she even told us we can call her if we needed help in anyway.

The location was very convenient since it was only a 5 minute walk to town. We felt very safe at Cocolobo and safe with our walks to and from town at night. It would be best to bring a flashlight, since it can be a very dark walk. We did not have any problems with mosquitoes, but the sand flies were vicious since we had very little wind while we were there. Even on the second floor balcony, we were getting bitten. That is not a fault of Cocolobo, this will happen even at the best of places. We stayed at the Grand Roatan where they rake the grounds a few times a day and we had more bites there than at Cocolobo. I would not let the sand flies deter anyone from experiencing Roatan or staying at Cocolobo.

Thank you Wayne!

I appreciate the honest review! I have asked our plumber to look into the strange water pressure in the shower. Hopefully, Masako was able to enjoy the rest of her vacation in the water. I just let another guest use that wetsuit this week!

All the best,
Krys
