An amazing little hotel just off the main drag in West End, Posada Arco Iris is a tropical oasis. You get a private beach, with lounge chairs on the sand and a coral reef just offshore. They offer free kayaks and cheap snorkeling equipment if you want to be active, and a restaurant and bar if you don't! The rooms are large, and the hammocks are a great place to spend an afternoon. I found the hotel to be incredibly clean and the staff to be friendly and helpful. Would recommend getting the air conditioning though -- it can be sweltering without a way to cool it down.

We just returned from a 10-night stay. We had a great time! The beach in front of the hotel is wonderful! The rooms are basic but they are clean and quiet. The mattresses are a bit old and the pillows are flat and/or lumpy but what do you expect for $50/night?

This place is in a wonderful location, and the large inner garden with its huge tropical trees and vines proves an oasis of shade and quiet when you need a break from the sun. It is on the 'main drag' so is very close to all the diving places, shops and eateries, yet not too close to the louder night scene if you want to get some sleep before your early morning dive. The staff are very nice and friendly, the rooms are clean and large, and the ambiance is perfect. We will definitely stay there again!

Just got back after staying 10 nights here and we were quite pleasantly surprised with the quality and especially the cleanliness of the place.
We stayed in room 18 on the second floor which has partial views of the sea and benefits from a sea breeze although we did pay extra for the air con which I would recommend as I would have found it very difficult to stay in the room otherwise.
The room was cleaned with new towels and linen every day. The staff were friendly too and it is very quiet despite being centrally located.

We stayed at the 1 bd apt, there was 5 of us, so the placed a queen bed in the living room/kitchen area. After staying at hostels for the entire week, the hot water was very welcoming. The place has a lot of charm and amenities. The staff cleaned our room every day and gave us fresh towels and the kitchen was well stocked with silverware and pots and pans (however w/o a car, there's not many places you can go and stock up on food). The beach access was right across the street and it had chair for us free of price. Standard kayaking and snorkeling accessories were free as well. The only con is the beach is gorgeous, but not the best beach on the island. Since the rooms and secluded among the foliage, there were a lot of red fire ants as well, so keep that in mind and be careful! Other than that, at this price, you can't get anything better on such an "expensive" island.

Room Tip: Bring your own sheets and pillow cases. The sheets are probably like 50 thread count, so you may feel more comfortable on your own sheets.
