“A Romantic, Unique Place Off the Beaten Path”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 5, 2014

We were captivated by the lovely music streaming out of this place as we walked along the back road to the resort we had a cabin at. Sometimes jazz, sometimes classical, sometimes something else the owners fancied. Very amicable and hospitable owners - one from London and one native Honduran. Although we didn't stay overnight here, the owners gave us a tour of the B&B's rooms - very charming and romantic! Each with their own balcony.

We did end up squeezing in a lunch on our last day. Super "fresh catch of the day" sea bass with a scrumptious sauce and fresh mixed veges. Quite tasty. Add a lovely glass of wine and music ... we had the restaurant all to ourselves (plus a couple of friendly dogs).

Easy short walk to town and beach, this lovely and unique "hotel" is surrounded by natural scenic beauty with hosts who are eager to take care of you. If we return to Roatan, this would definitely be where I would stay. NOTE: during the rainy season, the road outside the hotel can get very muddy. Don't let it deter you as once you step inside the grounds, you'll be pleasantly surprised by the creative touches and cleanliness.

A small and cosy place to stay, they only have three rooms/suites that are spacious and romantic. The hotell is run by a lovely couple and their three rescue dogs. We spent our wedding night and some following nights here and it was very cute and secluded. We had dinner on our own under the stars in their restaurant and in the mornings you can get your breakfast at you own balcony. They also have a pond with turtles and fish.

We stayed here in July 2013 and had a perfect time!! Roatan itself was a dream, if not a bit on the pricey side. The Lily pond was the best place we stayed in our 6 week tour through Central America. It was one of our 'treat' places and it did not disappoint - romantic, quiet, clean, all around high standard. We stayed in the garden room which was beautifully decorated. Breakfast by Luis was generous and tasty and the dinners we ate there were delicious. Zak and Luis are laid back, great company and excellent hosts, often going above and beyond. The guesthouse is a 2 minute walk from West End village but tucked away enough so not affected by noise. Our only complaint is that we couldn't stay here longer!! If we ever have the privilege of returning to Roatan, we will look no further than the Lily Pond. Thank-you to our hosts and their friendly dogs for contributing to such a special time!

Room Tip: For greater privacy choose the top room but all rooms big and beautifully decorated

I had expected something good after reading the Trip Advisor reviews, but the place, service and food were much better. Luis's cuisine is superb and both owners are full into service. I would recommend it and definitely will be back.

My wife and I stayed at Lily Pond for two weeks this summer and had a mixed experience. On the one hand, Lily Pond's location and layout were quite nice. The hosts, Zak and Luis, were personable and friendly. On the other hand, the B&B was run somewhat unprofessionally. The layout of the rooms was nice, but probably had not been deep cleaned in months, if not more. The caulk in the bathroom was teeming with mold. The breakfast was decent, but, unless you specifically requested otherwise, consisted of the same thing every day: a bowl of fruit (watermelon, cantaloupe, and mango), a piece of bacon/sausage and an egg. Then there were the dogs...mind you I have been a dog owner my entire life. The Lily Pond houses three dogs, who, depending on the day, smell bad to downright stinky. They are kept within the common outdoor area and are there to "greet" you anytime you leave or return. The common outdoor area is also their restroom area when needed. I appreciate that Zak cares for the dogs, but it seems they are sometimes given priority over the guests (for example, one has to step over the doggy gate and step to come and go from the premises). Lastly, the "high speed" internet is quite slow. As it turns out, this has mostly to do with the bandwidth taken up by the [mostly R&B] music that is LOUDLY streamed by the hosts every day from 9AM to 10PM. In summary, I think that the Lily Pond is worth considering if staying for a weekend or so and you will not be hanging out there so much. With a bit more effort and consideration, it would be a lot better.

We had a two night short stay on roatan recently and wanted to experience West End. We loved the Lily Pond House because it is slightly off the beaten path yet just a two minute walk to a beautiful beach. The restaurant has an amazing menu of seafood items and was top notch. Our included breakfast was a treat we looked forward to each morning with wonderful fruit, hot cocoa and omelette. We appreciated the personal balcony off our attractive room that but us right in the midst of a jungle garden. The hosts are warm and personable also. We highly recommend the Lily Pond House and look forward to a longer stay!

We were guided to the Lily pond house by all of the great reviews here on trip advisor. We were blown away by the quality of our experience here. We stayed in the captain Morgan room and it was clean and cozy. Zack and Luis were incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to make our trip enjoyable. When we caught a fresh tuna on a fishing charter, we brought it back and they cooked it up for us! Tasty!! Breakfasts also were filling and delicious. We would recommend the Lily pond for anyone visiting Roatan.
