Rooms are clean. Air Con is good. Nice clean sheets, towels & bathrooms. Soap & shampoo provided. Wifi worked without hitch from 2nd floor (room #25) but my friend had issues from ground floor (room #7). Hotel has a generator - we lost power only once and genset was auto start within 60 seconds.

Airport is 10-15 min away. Plenty of good food within 3-5 minutes. We only opted for Breakfast plan for convenience. Dive shop on premises - right next to the rooms - like 15-20 feet away. You can store your scuba gear there. Do bring bug spray & Sun Screen lotion. Taxi from Airport to hotel was at fixed price at US$25 (as of Aug 2014).

Do not drink water from faucets -we opted to brush our teeth with bottled water. Quite a few people got sick after a few days with the stomach bug and fever. I recommend coming prepared with Immodium, Pepto Bismol, fever/pain meds and even an antibiotic like Ciproflaxin. My son fell sick and recovered within 12 hours due to Cipro while others were down for 2 days without the antibiotic.

Restaurant is a little overpriced with mediocre Italian food and almost no local cuisine. Boring ambiance for having a drink.

Not too happy with the scuba shop -- the ladders on the boat are not good. The rungs are rounded and the hand holds are a rope! At least 3-4 people I know slipped off the ladder (including me getting bruises on my stomach and legs). Dive masters/Instructors do tend to lead large groups and sometimes ignore students or new divers in distress. They also push real hard to sell PADI books for courses even though PADI says the books are optional.

The Scuba operation needs improvement. Though they have a cart, they want all divers to carry their weights and gear back to the shop from the boat (they bring the tanks back). Not a very big deal, but when diving in the Caribbean we do expect some level of service on vacation. The boats DO NOT have a marine radio or running lights. Never saw an emergency oxygen bottle on any boat. For night dives, the boats do not have internal lights or a flashing beacon underwater. Not sure how they achieved a PADI 5-star rating. If you need dive equipment repaired, see Mr Tree at COCONUT DIVERS.

I stayed at the Splash Inn with a friend for 2 nights and had a great experience. The staff was very kind and welcoming and even give you welcome drinks upon arrival. The hotel was clean and had air conditioning, which was great. Our room didn't have any views, but was accessible via an outdoor wrap-around balcony with many trees. The hotel doesn't have it's own beach, but has a dock over the water with lawn chairs - if you'd like to go to the beach, a public one is only a short walk away. There are also many restaurants and bars within walking distance.

The Splash Inn dive shop was FANTASTIC! I had some beautiful dives with Mauricio who was and incredible, kind, and knowledgable instructor, that was even kind enough to take some pictures for me while diving. I would definitely come back here again and would strongly recommend it!

Room Tip: Room 21 was good, but doesn't have a view.

Welcoming staff, clean rooms, excellent service and affordable accommodations, Splash Inn was the perfect choice for our dive expedition on the West End. Perfectly situated in the center of West End near all restaurants and other dive shops. The dive center was fully accommodating and a pleasure to dive with. Serena the Manager, Monique, Dorian, Cristobal & Mauricio made our trip to Roatan complete. Professional and amicable, we couldn't say more about the staff of the dive center. Lifetime friends were made on this week long vacation! We cannot wait to return for more diving!! See you soon!!

Third time staying here and I still love it. Very convenient with the hotel, restaurant, and dive shop right there. This is right in the heart of the West End, close to all the shops, restaurants, bars, etc. Everyone is very friendly and super helpful. This is more rustic than the luxe places in West Bay, but that is what is so wonderful about it.
And you meet so many wonderful people from around the world.
Diving with Splash is also fantastic. Divemasters, captains, and managers all are top notch. Don't know if I would dive with anyone else in roatan.
I will be back, hopefully sooner rather than later.

Room Tip: Great divers hotel!

My boyfriend and I recently stayed in a double room at Splash Inn, in West Bay. It was fantastic! The room was clean and comfy, and the amenities you get for the price of the room are unbeatable. We had reliable wifi, beach towels, cable TV (some in English and Spanish), and after the restaurant closed there was still water available.

One thing that we really enjoyed, that seems to be undersold on their website, is their private dock. Splash Inn has a pier that sits out over the beautiful blue waters, with beach chairs and nice steps to get in and out of the water. So we spent some of our time at the beach, and some of the time at the dock just relaxing over the water. The water taxi pick up spot is right next door, and you can get to West Bay for $3 per person (one way). You are also walking distance to a closer beach in West End.

The food at the restaurant is really good, too. And the portions are huge! My boyfriend and I shared meals several times. There are also lots of good restaurants around Splash Inn, so the location is really nice.

We were also able to do a discover dive with the dive shop attached to the hotel, and it was EXCELLENT. We had a great time, and are considering returning to get our PADI Open Water certification. :)

The staff is great, and the hotel is awesome. I was so happy with our experience, and would recommend it to anyone trying to stay in West End, who wants comfort, but doesn't want to spend a fortune!

Room Tip: We had a room upstairs, and I liked that. I thought it was a bit quieter, since the bottom floor is...

Incredible location right in the middle of the West End! Fairly low budget but an excellent and very clean room for about $50/night. Front desk staff was super friendly. Not many amenities so if you're for a resort, then this is not the place for you. Fantastic for divers who want the basics!

The hotel is conveniently located on the main strip with plenty of restaurant choices close by. The room was clean and well appointed, the bed and linens comfortable, and the staff was friendly. We had an excellent experience with the dive center on site. Serena, the manager, was warm and accommodating. Mauricio, our instructor, was fabulous! He was thorough, patient, and a genuinely good person. We had such a good experience with him getting our advanced certification that we talked our friends into getting their open water with him (even though they weren't planning on doing any diving). They extolled Mauricio as well, appreciating the way he performed every skill he required of them during their classes. I've since recommended Splash Inn and Mauricio to another friend who has had a great experience as well.
